- A 50 floor office building will always have a basement for parking or if not, it will be having a podium which might be around 4 to 5 levels. The ground floor also should be higher than the typical floor. Say: 1. Ground floor averages around 4.5 to 6m level 2. Podium averages from 3.1 to 4m level 3. Typical floors from 2.7 to 3.1m level Hence: GF = 4.5 Podium 3.1 x 5 = 15.5m typical floors = 2.7 x 44 = 138.8m say 140m from the Ground floor level (minimum)
- Q:Hi,I am puzzled a little bit. I always thought that the expression FLOOR can have many meanings (like carpet, hardwood flooring, other kinds of flooring, tiles...). However I found out that the word floor is used only for hardwood flooring, vinyl flooring and other types of flooring. Therefore I would like to ask, which expression represents all those words including carpet and tiles. I was not able to find that word using google, so I am trying it here. :-) Will be thankful.
- I would say What type of floor covering do you have? Even if the answer is wood, tile or linoleum people are likely to answer with the information you need. The answers would be on the lines of ..Oh, we have a wooden floor...., or We have carpet... etc.
- Q:Just removed an old lenoleum flooring, ( 50 years), and a Parkay floor. Do they make a floor sander or are there any chemicals that can be used?
- Hand floor scraper is your best bet. The glue from the Parquet will be very hard since these old glues almost crystallizes . Getting the high stuff off and then use a grinder if you need to get it to cement again. VERY dusty though..There are no solvents safe to use in a residential setting that will work . - Q:I am looking at putting down flooring thoughout my home.I am curious to know which is the best the laminated flooring or the snap together flooring.I have carpet down now in most of the rooms with the exception of the bathrooms kithchen and utilitie rooms.
- If it's going to get wet a lot or if you have inside dogs, think about going ceramic tile.
- Q:ok so my hubby and i just bought a 6 bd 2 bath house.. only problem is the down stairs bathroom floor looked as if the sub floor was bad right by the bathtub well hubby and i pulled up all the sub floor.. well the joist i think it is called there is 3 of them going across one of them when i step on it moves just a tiny bit(im 133 lbs) the 2nd one moves up and down when i step on it and has a split in the middle the 3rd one where the bath tub was is the worse and its soft feeling on the top and feels like it could break.. i was told by a repair man that to fix this problem it would cost WELL over 1,000.. i pulled up the other sub floor in the laundry room that is right next to the bathroom and only separated by a "wall" more like paneling and them joist seem to be fine(no splits,doest move much at all)what should i do and can this be fixed for less the 1,000??thanks

- Q:I'm building a house on Sims 2. Once i completed the walls for level 1 of the house, i moved up to the second level to build there but for some reason the floor tile grid is not complete. I can't build the walls as the floor has gaps in it. Does anyone know why this is? and how can i prevent it?
- Normally if your on the 2nd floor of your house you have to put up the walls first but it's been awhile since I played that game so I might be wrong. When I say the walls though I mean for the outer part of the house. Did you try clicking on the options so that you can make the walls disappear so you can see what your doing better? Could be something is in the way possibly or it could be that your trying to build your house a certain way. If your doing it where your having like say a terrace on the 2nd floor than you need to put a crap load of pillars under at the beginning than put your floor on the 2nd level. After you did that you can delete all the extra pillars and everything should work where you don't have any gaps in your floor. Hope that helps.
- Q:I'm not sure what is wrong with the floor in my house. On the hardwood part there are lumps forming all over the place. In the laminate kitchen there a lumps and you can feel where it's sinking in certain places. What kind of company should I get to look at the floor or foundation? The house is only 7yrs old and we just moved in 6 mos ago. We had the home inspected before we moved in. Is there any way insurance pays for this if it's a major problem? Shouldn't our inspector have seen this? It's seems like there are new bumps and sinking every day.
- the flooring is swelling do to humidity this is the humps. In the winter it will shrink. the flooring was not put down correctly (no room for expansion) Hard wood flooring that is nailed down is the worst. I have better luck gluing down hardwood or leaving expansion gaps. The laminate flooring needs a 3/8 space around outside perimeter for expansion ( so called floating floor) unless glued down.
