In any case they are a bad way to learn something. They simply can't correct things. And that is assuming that the video shows them correctly in the first place. Learn from a competent instructor.

In any case, my personal opinion (cynical, for sure) is that the news media would rather have footage of the rescuers desperately digging by hand than a crane lifting huge slabs off of victims.
