- Q:I'm painting my kitchen a beige or baby yellow type of color, and I have panel sliding closet doors that are white. I would really want to paint them brown but don't want them to look like brown, I want them to look like wood. Any techniques I can do to make them look that way without having to sand them down and do a bunch of work? Any ideas would be great! Thanks.
- The best solution I've found duct tape. (No, not around the cat!) Pull off a long strip, about two feet in length. Press it down on the convertible top and rub back and forth lightly to press it down. Then pull it off. Nearly all the hair under that strip will go away. Then repeat, on a different portion of the top, till the cat hair is gone. I've tried the sticky rollers we use on clothing no good. Nor are the rubber-bristled brushes (which are okay on the couch). They all do a little good, but the only thing that's pulled cat hair off my convertible top is the roll of 2 wide duct tape.
- Q:im playing resident evil 3 right now and i notice that u can burn out the fire (where u meet the first virus dogs). i found the fire hose to burn it out but its bolted to the wall and i cant take it. when i try to run back to the fire from the hoses location, my game crashes. the rest of the game is fine, just crashes when i go back. my question is, do i need to burn that fire out later in the game? or is there just secret stuff there? cause if i have to burn that stuff out later then im screwed
- I had a similar problem with a smoke detector which would go off when the steam from the kettle happened. The unit was 25ft away, and of course this is NOT smoke. Did some checking and found out that some of the detectors with certain components do this so changed ours and no problems since! Ours is not hard-wired but straight battery. Ours also has NO radio-active components in it, which we understand is the best one to have, and not just for the obvious reasons. You may have a similar problem to me because it sounds like your detectors may be reacting to heat [like the steam from my kettle] and not to a fire's CHEMICAL component, which is what a detector is supposed to sense! Take all of your detectors [the ones you took out and the ones installed] to a testing facility [check with your local council, fire authority, electricity authority, etc] for the correct one to go to, for your own peace of mind and for others who may have the same units, that COULD BE FAULTY FATAL in the event of a fire. I am sorry for your frustration and hope you get the right help, SOON!!

- Work only in dry environments. No water on the floor. Plug AC powered test equipment into a GFCI protected circuit. Really no safety issues on DC voltages under 50V. Only handle electrical leads with one hand. Keep the other in your pocket. Rubber mats to stand on. Rubber gloves worn inside leather gloves Face shield and arc-flash rated clothing when working on anything over 50VAC.
- Q:So I had to use an old fire extinguisher, I was facing it and the wind blowing the opposite direction, so long story short I breathed in a pretty big plume of the stuff. So, my question is, am I in any danger/ is that stuff really bad for you?
- Your sister must be 6 years old or less. You will not see anything in Activity Monitor that says I'm a hacker or anything obvious. The best solution is two-fold. (1) Restart holding command and R keys for 45 seconds. Choose Disk Utility, Erase. Then quit Disk Utility and choose Reinstall OS X. I hope I don't need to tell you Erase means erase, not half erase, so have a backup of photos and documents. (2) Ask your parents to buy a computer for your sister. This sort of over-the-top control is unbelievable and cannot easily be monitored, so she really needs her own computer to mess up. 0-0
- Q:Wasn't it 1980 in all new base homes I know that ALLdormatories were REQUIRED to have them installed effective on January 1, 1985. This standard falls in the catagory of hotels and motels sleeping rooms per N.F.P.A. standards. And also I know that ALL on base military home had to have sprinkler systems installed since January 1, 1990 under DoD requirements.
- That's a loaded question. Well, first, if you got a contact lens exam you also got a refraction which means you already have your glasses Rx. No further charge. Now, you can get two pair of glasses for around $99 or so OR you can get an Armani frame with transition lenses and Anti-Reflective coating in 1.67 hi index material for about $550 or anywhere in-between. Depends on what type of quality you want.
- Q:i'm looking for cyber/goth/rave kinds of goggles. Cy-X style maybe, but they seem impossible to find without already knowing where. Can anyone help me out?
- If you work in any industry in Melbourne, what's left of it, you are required to wear protective clothing of some type, and the employer is required to supply it to you free. That includes any fluro clothing, safety boots, gloves, head-wear or overalls. If they don't supply them, they are breaking the law.
- Q:We are trying to develop a system by which one can remotely access its electrical appliances. And for this i m planing to develop web application( JSP ) and desktop application ( JAVA ). And for testing a small hardware with 4 led light, I need help for designing the algorithm as i am not able to find on net,
- Well for the lightning rod question, it is part of the building code. It's the law that buildings be grounded.. If they aren't then the insurance is not valid, nor can you get insurance. Why the popemobile has bullet proof glass. Well JPII (rip) was shot, and even though he survived and recovered for the most part, none of us want a repeat, so we Catholics are the ones who are insisting that the Pope ride in the popemobile. We don't want to lose him. It would be the same as if someone shot and killed Richard Dawkins, or the Queen of England, or the President. You don't want your leader to be in danger.
- Q:I'm developing a VB program with Ms. Access as the backend database. My concern is whether the client is still able to run the program, where the client has no Ms. Access installed on their PC. Is there a way to work this out? Or do i need to use another type of database. Thank you so much in advance.
- The shingle roof is more efficient because it holds in heat more effectively than a reflective surface. Thus, it keeps the house's temperature more regular by keeping the heat in better, rather then letting lots of hot and cold air escape or enter.
- Q:I was talking with my mother one day about this after we heard an alarm go off for like an hour (okay maybe an exaggeration). And we wondered..why do people still have car alarms? No one ever calls the police or anything when they go off. If you have one, you almost always just go &well that can't be mine& or something. I have actually known people, been sitting with them, as their alarm went off and they still ignored it. You just sit there rolling your eyes and go &damnit when is that thing gunna stop??&. At least, they do in my city. I know, im one of them, but just out of curiosity ;)
- Don't and you can find the dogs and rescue groups for your area.
- Q:To my knowledge, there isn't a highly effective way to harness static electricit, but the more I thought about it, the more realistic this seemed. Is my thinking flawed? Electricity travels down the lighting rod similar to the way it would travel down a wire or any other conductor. Has this been tried before?
