Maintainance guide:
Make sure that you regulaly clean the wood floors in order to prevent dust accumulation. We recommand to clean a small part
of stains as a testing ground to prevent too much chromatic aberration.
Dust and stain— use a hard brush dipped in warm soapy water to remove it.
Mildew— scrub with ordinary wood mode class agents, or bleach to rinse or wipe it directly.
Chalk stains—In addition to the while chalk, other colors can not be removed, you can use bleaching agent with hot soapy
water to wash it.
Ice or snow—Apply calcium chloride or rock salt, it can melt ice or snow, then use hot soapy water to wash it.
Stain soil and dirts— Apply detergent, which contains oxalic acid or phosphoric acid. Whiping the stain for 10-15 mins.
Greasy and oil-based stains—immediately use household cleaning products with hot soapy water to wash it.
Juice and wine stains—Mixed the bleach stain agent and hot soapy water to dilute the stain and wipe.

- Q:I have a house that is 51 years old and would like to lay some hardwood laminate flooring . The problem is that the floor is pitched towards a drain. Their are no signs of leaks in concrete flooring and foundation. I am only doing half of the area so drain will not be covered. Will I have to build up a subfloor first ?
- It really depends on how perfect you want the floor to look. You can put laminate flooring over an uneven floor, but it will flex when you walk on it, in severe cases it may come apart in the areas that have the most flex. The correct way to install the floor in your case will be to use a leveling compound first. But I have installed this floor on fairly uneven surfaces per the customers request and had no major problems other than you can see it flex when people walk on it. But if it were me I'd rather level the floor first.

- It's true that solid surface would be best; however, you can use a granite tile at a much lower cost than a slab. Use dark grout and seal it properly to avoid the problems the other person mentioned. As far as color is concerned; I think I might want the floor a little lighter than the counter tops - to make them pop. Same color family, just slightly different tones or textures. Also, if you don't have a lot of counters, you can ask for a discounted granite slab; most granite places have leftovers. Make sure you have some warm color lighting or accessories to spice up your look; like oranges or reds.
- Q:I have cleaned, degreased, and filled cracks in the garage floor (let cure 10 days). It has been powerwashed and swept (you could eat off of it now). I mixed the etching solution according to the directions and applied to pre moistened garage floor. The directions state that if the solution does not fizz the floor is sealed and needs further prep and that if it does fizz it will do so for 4-5 minutes. I applied the etching solution and it did fizz but for a very short time (Less than 1 min). Also, the floor does not feel very rough...in fact, I can't tell any difference from now to when there was nothing done besides cleaning. Any suggestions from someone that has used this product or has knowledge of etching would be much appreciated.
- If your floor had what is called a burnt finish when installed and is 10 or more years old, the floor's concrete finish won't bubble much at all. The burnt finish micro-finishes the concrete surface mostly eliminating the tiny air bubbles and almost tempers the concrete. Then add 10 years and your concrete is TOUGH! I am assuming you are doing a garage floor paint system and using epoxy, with or without paint chips. You have followed the procedure correctly and are ready to go. Give it plenty of time to dry after painting. Another tip to make the floor last as long as possible is to let your vehicle sit outside after running all day until the tires are cool before parking. The tires can get hot enough to ripple the paint just underneath them
- Q:I pulled up my old vinyl kitchen flooring (7 years old) and found that the underlayment is in great shape except that the original vinyl was just glued about 3 inches around the entire perimeter. I scraped the old glue as best as possible and it is almost perfectly level with the rest of the floor. Does it need to be perfectly smooth where it meets the unglued edge or is a slight ridge OK to keep it from showing through the new vinyl flooring? I do have floor &quot;sizing&quot; that I plan to use where there are any nicks or impressions. Should I use the sizing around the edges and taper to the good flooring or am I overdoing this project? I plan to lay new vinyl flooring this wekend. I'd appreciate any good advice. PS: I also tried sanding the old glue to take off any high ridges using 80 paper. Thanks
- You were fortunate to have armstrong perimeter glued product installed.So yes the floor would be in good enough condition. Some must do's These are important for warranty and longevity of your vinyl floor. Floor needs to be extremely smooth not to show through residental vinyl with its sheen. Use Portand cement products only they are good moisture resistors. I personally use ardex feather finsh it is very strong and will spread very nicely. Spread the ardex over all joints in the floor and where old glue was scraped. It dries in about 1/2 hour, using a fan to quicken the drying process. When dry sand ridges smooth and then do a very good sweep. Using a hand broom to make sure the floor is clean, I also use a joiny knife to scrap across the floor to make sure no old staples in the floor have started to rise up. Vinly is suppossed to be rolled with a 75 to 100 lb roller but if you use a wet rag and start pushing out air from center to edges you will acheive a good enough bond. A 1/4 piece of rice would look like a mountain under the vinyl. Anything larger than a grain of sand can be seen under the right lighting conditions so again smoothness is key.
