- Around a year back, i purchased a hp dv6 laptor for about half a lakh. As a complementary, the retailer offered me a motorokr mobile phone worth Rs.10000 for Rs.5500 extra. I bought the phone. Before opening the box, i looked for the reviews of the phone, which were mostly negative. So, I decided to sell it. I took it to THE MOBILE STORE who declined the offer. On asking, they told me that they themselves get the phone from motorola for 5500 and sell it to the customers for 10000. That means a profit for Rs.4500! I didn't sell it, and I use the phone and I hate it!

- The simple answer is no. The longer answer is maybe, but it will be a lot of work and maybe not worth it. VM has the Jax , which is a trimode phone. One of the few that can be used anywhere on Metro's network. The rest of VM's phones are older and even if they could be flashed to Metro, might not work in Metro's newest trimode areas. (Even phones made especially for Metro that are older won't work in trimode areas). The problem with VM is that they really lock their phones down. They disable usb/bluetooth and data a lot of times in order to prevent flashing to another network. And their phones are so cheap, all the time, energy and money flashing a VM phone often isn't worth it for a flashing pro to bother. It is easier, cheaper and faster to flash a Verizon or Sprint phone to Metro then it is any VM phone. Most Metro PCS flashers won't do Virgin Mobiles, especially the newer ones (like the trimode Jax). If you look on your local Craigslist, find an independent Metro flasher/dealer , call them up and ask if they can do VM phones. Make sure he is a dealer, because even if he can flash it, if he isn't a dealer, he won't be able to get it on the network making the flash useless. Don't bother with Metro PCS corporate or other stores. Most of the time they will not even bother with VM phones. Good luck if you are willing to undertake this challenging situation.

- What mobile company is this? FIrst and foremost, you needed to have read your contract carefully before you signed. In fine print, it would have stated some conditions or requirements for the promotion. If you look over your contract and still don't find it in the terms and conditions, go back to the phone company store and tell them about thier promotional ad. They refuse to budge, call customer service and be firm. There has to be some catch that you missed because flat out lying is false advertisment, something that can land them into a big lawsuit. Check carefully your contract papers before calling them up.

- You need to go to the T-Mobile website and sign into your account or if you haven't set up an online account, do so. All cell phone carriers have their sites set up that will show you 1. If you qualify for an upgrade. 2. How much this upgrade will cost. For instance: Sprint lets me get an upgrade every year. Some phones are absolutely free and some I would have to pay a small fee ( such as a 300. phone I might only pay $50). Also, Sprint will let me upgrade after 6 months however, the credit I get is less. At 6 months, I get $50 and then at 8 months $75 and so on.) If you are not computer savvy and cannot find how to do this on your own, call T-Mobile. They will gladly and willingly direct you to their sales department and tell you what you qualify for. - If the phone is inactive right now, you can go into a Virgin Mobile store and ask to activate it. Except since it has no phone number, that might be kinda hard. For unlimited texting, I have a $25 plan that gives 300 minutes, and unlimited texting and web. While you're at the store, they can probably start you on that plan. Or you can go into your messaging settings under Balance Usage and change it from there.

- I thought with most all phones, you can call the company, in this case, Argos, and tell them you are going out of the country and want to unlock your phone to use it and they will mail you the unlock code? Try that and see if it works.
