Q:Can I replace carpet pad without replacing the carpet?
the carpet might not go back down after. it might tear or rip, they can kind of dry rot. if you can find a carpet installation guy that would attempt it, he might not make any guaranty that it will work out right. that's the problem when people don't get the premium quality stuff that makes the carpet look good for a long time. our installer came out with the wrong stuff, then thought that i'd accept it. he had to go back to the warehouse and get the heavy padding that we ordered. good luck, but it might not work out for you. i wouldn't do it unless you can afford to replace it if it doesn't work out. and then it will have cost you more than just putting in a new carpet. buying the best padding helps the carpet last longer.
Q:If you spilled paint on your rugs will your insurance cover it?
As long as it was accidental, you usually can, but the deductable is usually more than the cleaning.
Q:making giant doily rugs?
It's true, and they used to make them with rages, so they were called rag rugs. I made a litle door mat sized one once using strips of rags. Just experiment, you can always pull the thing out and try again.
Q:Is it better for a horse's rug to be too hot or too cold?
Gosh, where in the UK are you that you're getting hot days?! We had a heatwave in March but since then all the north air has kept it decidedly on the cool side! (Snow due tonight!) It is better for a horse to be too cold than too hot - if he is too cold he can move about to keep himself warm, if he's got plenty to eat his gut will heat him from the inside - if he's too hot he will sweat under his rug and be even colder if the temperature drops. So long as the lightweight is windproof and waterproof he'll be fine.
Q:Need advice on area rug/curtain color for apartment living/dining area??
I okorder.com/.. Good Luck!
Q:How to take care of the bedroom carpet
Send professional carpet cleaning shop or you can scrub the carpet by yourself, using a vacuum cleaner to clean carpet is ok at ordinary times
Q:How can I add fringe to a wool oriental rug with missing fringe?
If the rug is valuable, don't do anything! If it's a cheap one, sew on new fringe, but make sure you replace the fringe on the other side, to match
Q:Is the water in the rental carpet shampoo-er really the dirt from my carpet?
You're probably renting a steam cleaner. Most companies don't rent actual commercial carpet shampooers, as they're very expensive and can be difficult to use; they can tear carpet up. Most people use the two terms interchangeably. (Sorry, semantics.) Yes, it's the dirt from your carpet. However, it doesn't take more than a spoonful or two of dirt to make a gallon of water look really gross and filthy. I have a steam cleaner, and I steam-clean my carpets every two to three weeks. But then I have cats, and I am constantly tracking in dirt from my garden as well. A month ago, however, a tornado took off my roof and dumped hundreds of gallons of water on my carpet. Ironically, I had spent an hour steam-cleaning that very carpet that morning, adding enzymes to make the carpet smell good. Yes, it's really the dirt from your carpet. There may be a little residual crap in the tub from the last person who rented it (which is why I bought my own steam-cleaner), but nearly all of is from your carpets.
Q:Can you stain a carpet?
just buy a basic type of carpet cleaner.
Q:VOMIT SMELL OUT OF CARPET?
This carpet needs the attention of a professional carpet cleaner, some one who can treat the carpet and then hot water rinse and extract it. The carpet then can be treated with a deodorizer at that point. I do not recommend carpet foam or baking soda as these products are extremely hard, if not impossible to remove. Carpeting is a very expensive investment, it pays to do things right regarding cleaning and routine maintenance once and a while.
