Q:Do I want to use the concavity of a marble tiles to make a TV backdrop, right? Help designers,
Or very good, I went to see the last one is about 700 it, the store should have activities, the last sister-in-law with the use of decorative convex stone, tropical rain forest? Or rice. The Can not remember.
Q:i‘m planning to change the tiles in my tub area. whats the right way of doing this? should i change the drywall to cement backerboard? and how do i fix the joint between the new cement backerboard and the existing wall and ceiling which is textured? pls help!
>>>>how do i fix the joint between the new cement backerboard and the existing wall and ceiling which is textured?<<<< If you're not tiling all the way up to the ceiling, don't put cementboard all the way up. leave enough drywall along the top of the wall so the top row of tiles overlaps onto the drywall. The joint will be hidden behind the tile. Use the blue or green coloured drywall it's better to resist the humidity.
Q:I went to the Home Depot website and for instance, baking stones are like $25 each. I heard that some flooring tiles do the same job, though some of the types (like terracota) can expel some poisonous gases when heated; also, that I should avoid enameled tiles or anything with coating.Should I get a baking stone instead?Thank you.

Q:My husband and I are going to redo a very small, four by four, half bath over Thanksgiving weekend. I‘ve picked up bits and pieces of advice about installing the marble floor tiles I‘ve bought, but I want to make sure I have the right advice before starting this or buying anything:Tile must be sealed both before and after installing, and the best sealer is Sealers Choice Gold. This will seal both the tile and the grout. Preinstall sealing should be done after cutting, not before. Do the tile edges need to be sealed as well or only the tops?Only white modified thinset should be used (brand recommendations?)Non-sanded grout should be used, and 1/8 inch spacing is acceptable for 12x12 tiles.Tiles should be wrapped before cutting to avoid breakage? I‘ve never seen this recommended before, but I‘ve also never installed marble. Thanks so much!
Marble tile floors have been around for centuries. Even today, in an age of much simpler and less expensive options, marble remains synonymous with elegance and class. Installing marble is more complicated than installing ceramic or other types of tiles because the marble can't be cut on a standard tile cutter, instead needing a wet saw. Also, since the tiles are straight-cut in their manufacture, the tile surfaces have to be completely even with one another.
Q:I want to install hardwood in all my house, except bathrooms.I currently have ceramic tile flooring. I know removing it and installing solid hardwood will be expensive. Can I install floaring hardwood over the ceramic tile?? I went to Lowe‘s, and the flooring assistant recommended me to to that. With the correct underlayment should be not trouble at all.Have you install it that way?? WHAT IS YOUR PERSONAL EXPERIENCE??
This Site Might Help You. RE: Floating Hardwood OVER ceramic tile? I want to install hardwood in all my house, except bathrooms. I currently have ceramic tile flooring. Q:Two tiles are randomly chosen one at a time and placed in the order in which they were chosen. Determine the probability that the tiles are:i.COii.Both vowels
PART 1: On the first draw, you have 1 desired outcome (C) out of 7 possible letters. P(first letter is C) = 1/7 On the second draw, you have 1 desired outcome (O) out of *6* remaining letters. P(second letter is O) = 1/6 The combined probability is the product: 1/7 x 1/6 = 1/42 The other way to figure this out is to count the total possible outcomes. You have 7 tiles that could be picked for the first tile and 6 tiles that could be picked for the second tile. That's a total of 42 outcomes. Of these only 1 is the outcome of CO. P(CO) = 1/42 PART 2: On the first draw, there are 3 vowels out of 7 possible tiles P(first is a vowel) = 3/7 On the second draw, there are 2 vowels left out of 6 possible tiles. P(second is a vowel) = 2/6 = 1/3 Combined probability is the product: P(both are vowels) = 3/7 x 1/3 = 3/21 = 1/7
Q:Should I put in a ceramic tile shower or cultured marble shower? Which would provide a better return when selling the house?
Tile looks great but is a real problem to keep mildew free. We lived in Houston for 20 years and had a tiled shower, it was a constant battle. We now have a cultured marble shower. Mildew is not a problem. I would not have any other type of shower. It is always clean and just a little spray with one of those new spray products and there is no soap scum to deal with either. It is less likely to have leak problems as well. If you are going to live in the house for a while, go with the cultured marble.
Q:I want to add a backsplash with a 4x4 ceramic tile. I only want to go up 1 or 2 tiles in height not the whole wall area. Edges of the tiles are not black for the unfinished ceramic. How do I make the edges look finished or black also?
Most tile patterns have edge pieces just for this purpose. When you go shopping for your tile, check to see if there are matching edge pieces in the same color. Edge pieces are narrow, beveled or rounded off in some way so you can just butter them in along the last row of tiles and give it a finished look. Talk to the shop folks and see what they've got for you.
Q:i;m going to install a medallion and i need to cut circle on four tiles. is there anything else besides a hand grinder that will do the job, ( cheap) i don‘t want to spend 300$$ just to cut 4 tiles to make a circle for the medallion to fit. thanks

Q:The tile I want to clean was built with the house back in the early 1900‘s but still in very good condition what would be the best way to clean that because its very dirty, and i think its porcealin. The second set of tile looks like it was put in back in the seventies but doesn‘t match the original tile at all, what would be the best way to change the color other than replacing it. Could i use pray paint?
First I would clean the tile with a mixture of bleach and water usually 3:1. Then I would sand the tile down, next use KILZ premium primer it will stick to anything you put it on, Wait one hour then you can top coat it with a 100% Aacrylic paint such as KILZ Casual Colors from Wal-Mart. The reason I say use a 100% aacrylic paint is due to the fact that it make your paint more washable and scrub-able it will also last longer, i.e no color change or mildew.
