- Ok,I'm not sure exactly what your going for.. there's stone tiles like marble and travertine pieces which are rather pricey or you can choose on getting a ceramic tile which there are many arrays of colors. There's the ceramic tile itself made from a red-clay backing... that has various grades called PEI Levels: 1-5 ... 5 Being the best.. Italian and Spanish Tiles are the best. And my recommendation is to get yourself a porcelain tile. Which has a cream colored backing almost as the exact color prints in the front of the tile. In case of anything falling and chipping the tile, porcelain does a better job and is not as noticeable, as where the red clay backing tile (ceramic) will chip and you'll see the red. The best way to tell as to how good a choice you've made is to carry one, if it's heavy it's good stuff...oh and be careful to not get it too slippery or too rough that dirt easily clings to it. If it's a new construction home, for installation get some kind of slab crack isolation system as (PRP) it's the best against any kind of stress cracks in the slabs of new homes..And always keep at least 3 boxes of extra tille for future repairs, tiles easily get discontinued and you will never get the same one again. - Tile comes many different ways. Is it natural stone like travertine or slate? It could also be ceramic or porcelain. Each product holds up differently. In any event, I hope it's a sealed or glazed product. If it doesn't have a glaze and is still porous, you're not getting the polish out. If the tile has a texture, you won't be able to scrape anything out either. Bleach won't help. I'm afraid that if the nail polish remover doesn't get it out, it may be permanent. The only thought I can offer is to get more of the same color grout that was used between the tiles. If your tile is porous or isn't smooth, there may already be grout on the surface of the tile. Regrouting the tile may help hide the nail polish. Sorry!

- I have slate tiles in my geckos 20 gallon long tank and I love it, its been a great substrate so far. It was pretty cheap I believe I paid like $10 bucks for 3 tiles. Alot of leo owners use slate tiles because of how natural it looks like you mentioned and easy to clean. He loves it and lays his belly on the tiles for heat Its very easy to clean just scoop the poop or use wet paper towels to clean. And yes it is good to use sand underneath the tiles to block some of the extra heat, because UTH's can get hot. I used about 5 small bags for my 20 long, and it reaches 90 degrees which is great. Measure the 10 gallon and try to get the biggest slate tiles that will fit. I filled in the cracks with sand so crickets cant get into the cracks. I filled the extra space on the sides of the tank with small rocks over the sand and it looks great, (home depot didnt have tiles that would fit the whole terraium). But overall slate tiles have been the best substrate Ive used so far so much better then reptile carpet and so much easier to clean.

- Oh man I feel your pain! a.Get a razor sharp floor scraper and go at it. b. Get a paint scraper and scrub the floor like you would any paint. I think you get more leverage using a hand held paint scraper. c. Last case scenario use a non oil based solvent like Acetone, or Lacquer thinner to dissolve the glue. Be sure to ventilate well so you don't get a buzz from the fumes. Good Luck!

- If you're removing ceramic tiles, you want to make sure that the new ones will bond to the cement subfloor. To check this, after the tiles are removed, acid wash the concrete floor with one part of Muriatic Acid 15 parts of water....BE careful. The floor should sizzle a little. If it doesn't, you will want to remove any adhesive that is still on the floor, and that's not easy! OR, go to a tile store in your area, or Home Depot, and tell them you need an adhesive that will bond to mastic that is still on your cement floor. If you're removing vinyl tile, the existing mastic shouldn't be a problem, but be sure to remove and clean any debris that might get sandwiched between the old and the new mastic.
