Q:so he is 18 months old and recently got a toddler bed... the first night went well put him in bed shut his door and he got out was at door for a few minutes then got back in bed... but now he is getting out of his bed with his blanket and sleeping right in front of his door... which is a problem because when we go to bed we always open his door open and check on him...now its really hard to get the door even open.. then carefully move him to his bed I def dont want him sleeping on the floor...suggestions please? He has always been good about going to bed he would go get his blanket we would kiss him goodnight an put him in bed he would talk for a lil bit and go right to sleep..... FYI he seems to really like the new bed its the step2 fire truck one..

You should try tucking him in and giving him his favorite toy and reading him to sleep.Tell him that his new bed is cool and its a big boy bed.Encourage him and make him feel safe.Stay with him for a little while.Good Luck3

Q:I've recently adopted a cat and for the first week I let him sleep on my bed so he could adjust to the new home (I also hadn't bought a cat bed yet) Now he has a cat bed but he prefers to sleep in my bed or on my lap... Is there some method or trick to teach him to sleep in his own bed? Or am I just stuck with the In the bed, out of the bed, back in the bed, out of the bed back in the bed routine?

Teaching a cat to sleep in it's own bed is hard and often harder when they are used to sleeping with you. Here is a trick to try. If he sleeps beside you, on a pillow, try putting the bed where he sleeps. give him a treat before bed and pet him while you lay down for bed. When he gets out of the bed, stop petting, when he gets back in pet him again. After a week or so and he learns that in that bed it's good and he gets rewarded in there until you are sleeping then maybe move the bed to the foot of the bed and be sure to pet him until you lay down and dont pet him afterward if he tries to get attention outside of his bed. After a week of him sleeping in his bed then move it to the floor make sure you put him there when you go to bed, but after a while he will understand that is his bed. ** Just for who answered before me, cats can be trained. My sister's cats can sit, stand, lay down and even beg when comanded. My cat's have been trained to not get on cabinets, they also walk on leashes. Yes they are stubborn and like to do their own, but I can guarentee you they can be trained, it just takes a little longer. So whoever said they can't be trained is wrong.

Q:I am going to stage my home for sale. Currently my queen size bed sits on my floor without any bed frame. Do I need one? Does a bed sitting on floor look bad? What about a bed without nightstands?

Yes, you need to get the bed off the floor. I trust you have a nice duvet? If not, buy one! Put on some nice matching cushions, same colours/ tones. And yes you do need a nightstand, two if your room is big enough with matching lights. Make sure they are on, even in daytime for any viewings. The most important things is clean and tidy. Pack up all your bits and pieces if you have lots on display, keep surfaces free of clutter. Put any excess stuff into storage or into a friends garage. Nice matching towels in the bathroom, not dingy old ones ! And a bunch of nice smelling flowers somewhere, like lilies, to make the house smell nice. All the best.

Q:I keep seeing these bugs in my bed but I'm not getting bit up and I only itch from the thought of it all. They let me pick them up and will just crawl on me, any ideas?

If you are not getting bitten then you do not have bed bugs. Whatever bugs they are you need to get rid of them. strip your bed , launder your bedding and use an insect spray ...................

Get loft stairs instead. Yes. Get ply wood and 2 by 4 boards. Cut the ply wood for the sides in the stair shape. Re-inforce it by nailing sections of board as a frame. Cover the stairs with a soft luxoriuos carpet secured to the botom of each stair. Attach beautiful wooden carved decorations or 'half round' moulding to the sides of the stairs paint them all a nice color. Sew the the fittted and top sheet together at the bottom egdes. Just a few stitches left, center and right. This keeps the sheets straight on the bed. A thick comforter hides every wrinkle a sheet makes with no need to smooth them out.

Q:I'm looking for THE toughest dog bed on the market. We've gone through 10-12 dog beds in the last year and are tired of buying beds. I want one that can withstand the chew attack and last more than 4 weeks. Any suggestions? Thanks

I would suggest you don't buy anymore dog beds. Going through 12 dog beds in one year is ridiculous.

Q:Hello. I've just recently started tanning for health reasons.The bed I use is a lay-down one and very basic with the time control on the outside of the bed.When I try to close it all the way, it makes a clicking sound and simply will not completely close as hard as I pull.There is a circular fan in the room so that it will cool you off in the bed, which leads me to believe it's not meant to close all of the way, but I'm not sure. Anyone know? Thanks

Q:We're looking at beds for our kids and wondering whats better for their back, either a bed with a box spring, or one with just a wood base (finding captains beds, bunk beds, and some low beds, just have a wood platform for under the mattress) and worried if this isnt good for them.

He's bored, pure and simple. You say, when you crate, doe's this mean you shut him in? if so, how long for? Crates are meant as a safe place for a dog, their den, not a prison. They are not meant to be shut in. If you must shut him in, make sure he has a long walk first, he needs to be tired. you need him to rest while he's in there. Put a blanket over the top of the crate. If he's had enough exercise he should rest without the need to be shut in.
