1. Structure of Monocrystalline Silicon Solar Modules 48Cell-225W Description

Solar panel refers either to a photovoltaics (PV) module, a solar hot water panel, or to a set of solar photovoltaics modules electrically

connected and mounted on a supporting structure. A PV module is a packaged, connected assembly of solar cells. Solar panels can be

used as a component of a larger photovoltaic system to generate and supply electricity in commercial and residential applications. Each

module is rated by its DC output power under standard test conditions, and typically ranges from 100 to 320 watts. The efficiency of a

module determines the area of a module given the same rated output – an 8% efficient 230 watt module will have twice the area of a 16%

efficient 230 watt module. There are a few solar panels available that are exceeding 19% efficiency. A single solar module can produce only

a limited amount of power; most installations contain multiple modules. A photovoltaic system typically includes a panel or an array of solar

modules, an inverter, and sometimes a battery and/or solar tracker and interconnection wiring.

Q:How long does it take to charge a 2v deep cycle battery with a 0 watt solar panel?
a 0w solar panel means at peak efficiency ( high noon, panel pointed flat at the sun, hitting it at 90 degrees), you will get 0 watts (at any given second). Watts = volts x amps a 2volt battery needs an incoming current of at least 3 volts to charge it; 3.5 volts is better. so if the output VOLTAGE of the panel is less than 3 volts it wont do anything. Even if it is, 0 / 3.5 = .74 amp.( three quarters). It will take forever and a day to charge a deeply discharged deep cycle battery.......... consider that a small 0v battery charger is putting out 3-5 amps ( or 3 x 0 =330 Watts) and the alternator on a car is putting out 20 to 50 amps at 4 volts ( 280 to 730 Watts).
Q:Is anyone using small solar panels in their home with any practical results?
I have an active solar heater on my roof. During the winter it comes in handy and heats the house, though we still need to use a gas heater to get the temperature up to a comfortable level.
Q:pool leak solar panel?
If you do not isolate the solar system when backwashing your filter, you WILL pump DE into the panels and plug them and destroy them. At this point you may have to disconnect the panels, wash them from the RETURN SIDE (from the higher pipe and HOPE that the DE will flow out of the panels... most likely your pool guy just screwed up your solar real good... if the DE is plugging your panels, when winter comes your panels will split because they are holding water and the freezing water will split them... I hope your pool guy has insurance
Q:How much can I expect it to cost to install solar panels?
solar panels are expensive and you probably wont life long enough to recup the cost. last week the times quoted £5000 to install, a potential saving of £200 per year and 00 years to recoup. based on 400 hrs of sunshine. (uk) factor in your sunshine state hrs and you may just benefit.
Q:Reflectors or mirrors around the solar panels.......?
You could (an example of concentrating sunlight is called cloud gain, where the edge of a cloud will intensify sunlight as it passes between the sun and your panels), but that will make your panels run hotter and will probably reduce their life. It's better from a system design standpoint to simply get another panel or two. DK
Q:what are solar panels?
Solar Panels collect solar energy from the sun and then solar energy is used to produce electricity.
Q:Connect Power Outlet to Solar Panel?
Most efficient manner would probably be to use solatubes, or sun tunnels during lighting hours, then replace the 500 watt lighting system (assuming it's incandescent) with LED's, that should give you about the same light output for around 00 watts or a little less even. Then you need a solar panel that can produce 00 watts for as long as you want (at a 00 watt lighting system) or 200 watts for /2 the time you want, etc, etc. Allow a good 0% or so for inverter inefficiencies, and 0% or so for reserve, so 20 watt's per 00 watts. After you have this, you will want a charging controller, a battery, or battery bank (These should at very least be deep-cycle, or better yet golf-cart batteries with series between 2, and parallel between banks of 2 for the 2-volt portion of the system), with enough amp-hours to support your system, plus a good 0% or so reserve, plus another 0% or so for inverter inefficiencies (remember the over sized solar panel above, this is why), than of course you also need a 2-volt DC to 20-volt AC, 60 Hz system (or 240 volt AC 50 Hz system, depending on your AC system) inverter.
Q:Solar panel battery charging?
it depends how big the panel is. a small trickle charger (like a 2W panel with built-in diode), just connect + to + and - to - (parallel) to trickle charge the battery. The diode will keep the batter from discharging through the panel when there is insufficient sunlight. for a large panel (like a 220W 24v panel), you best go through a charge controller. the charge controller has 2 leads for the solar panel input, 2 leads for the battery connection and 2 leads for the 2v load. just follow the instructions to connect the panel and battery to the controller, and MAKE SURE YOU USE THE REQUIRED FUSES. very straightforward stuff -- just RTFM
Q:how do i build a solar electric panel for my home?
Dear Matadora, Very good, good, good step to change your home electric supply to solar cell, because in long run, solar cell is cheaper. First you have to consider Power need for your house, eg. 200W, then you go to sellers and choose one with lowest price but best quality. After that you should assemble/attach your solar panel in place that gets most Sunlight, most probably in your roof. Attach them tightly, avoid burglar. Original solar cell current is DC. Current from solar cell placed first in several car batteries, so you could use electricity in night either. After that if your home appliances use DC, you could directly connect your appliances to batteries. But if your appliances need AC, current should be converted first from DC to AC use DC to AC converter. Car battery used to have 2 Volt DC. So if you need 220VAC, after DC converted into AC, then passed through transformer to increase voltage. Thank you very much Matadora.
Q:hi i am asking about the life of solar panels?
Some are better than others. It depends on the manufacturing technique. All will degrade over time, some over decades, others over months (if they're defective).
