Bean bag chairs are much more comfortable for a short period of time. Video game chairs have more support for your back, neck and head. Better for playing games. Bean bag chairs are more likely cheaper than video chairs. Video chairs take up a little less room, but the bean bag you can throw into a corner. We have both, and our boys prefer video chairs to play games than the bean bag. Go sit in them for about five minutes and then make your decision on what feels better. :-)

Tom- what a neat product, looking at the links available, the sack just clips on at a certain height. Of course not ANY chair would work, but if there is clearance at that particular height where the clips are on the sack, and there was nothing to interfere with it on the chair, I don't see why it wouldn't The interesting thing is that any chair you would use would go between you and the sack, which of course is counter intuitive. Yes, it still is used. Quiet Chair is a nicer name than Time Out Chair and better understood by a 2nd grader. If you have the children together on a rug by your story chair, insist that all are quiet and ready to listen before you begin a story. Hands on own lap, voices off. Do this for lessons, too. If they talk when they shouldn't, give a warning. Then have child move further away if on the floor or move the desk a bit to increase personal space. Then the child moves to the Quiet Chair. Loud and disruptive is just not acceptable during lessons time. If this is a recurring problem, add a step to your morning attendance and calendar routine. Review the class rules - even if you have to do it every day for a week. Emphasize what you expect for storytime and lessons. 1-2-3- eyes on me, and a frequently repeated rule in my room, Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself. This is our expectation. That makes it more a matter of breaking the rule, not just making the teacher mad (which I try not to do). We stop and recite the rule to get back on track.

Replacing the cylinder is usually not an option however you could set the height, then drill through the shaft and put a bolt in it to hold it to that height. Another way is to take the cylinder apart and put a collar in there, a piece of pipe of the correct height to hold the chair where you want it.

Yowza is right, except that those clubs had lots of different chair styles in them (Wing, Charles of London, Tuxedo, etc )... Add this thought, from common usage... Look at the front of the arm. If it is shaped kinda like this P ; THAT's a club chair. (the front of the arm has a club shape)

Not especially. The portable comfortable is likely a futon. Some can be found that fold into a utility table.
