Q:Our church furnace uses heating oil. Do we need carbon monoxide detectors?
Fire is a rapid oxidation process releasing light and heat. You need 3 parts of a fire triangle to make fire. Heat, fuel and oxidizer (usually air). If you break the triangle you break the chain reaction and the fire goes out. Use of water is most common. Water actually cools the substance burning to a point it stops putting out flammable vapors. It is the vapors that actually burn causing destruction of the object. Water does not put out fire by removing oxygen. It is used because it is usually plentiful and available. Flammable liquids like gasoline are best extinguished by a smothering chemical like a dry powder extinguisher or special foams that smother the fire. The problem with gasoline is it puts out its vapors at a temperature as low as about -38 degrees F. As soon as the smothering blanket breaks it is putting out vapors that can reach an ignition source. Electrical equipment is best extinguished by making sure the power is off then attacking the fire with what you normally would use, like water or chemicals. There are some agencies like NASA that have developed special systems that use inert cryogenics like liquid nitrogen to protect rockets, etc.
Q:i got fired for calling in sick please help?
So I came across some interesting literature that's saying a motorcycle helmet offers significant protection against head injury during a tornado a likely cause of fatalities during these storms. So, like the 0.01% of the population out there, I'm being proactive and shopping for cheap (but durable DOT) helmets on before storms hit this coming Saturday and Sunday. Should I go with Fuel or Vega?
Q:what is the adventage of cast resin transformer type over the oil immersed transformer type?
Here are a few camping tricks for keeping warm while camping. Heat up stones and wrap them well then insert them in your sleeping bag. Never sleep directly on the ground, if you have no ground cover use pine needles to make a bed under your tent. You can also dig a rectangular hole, fill it with hot coals which you then cover up with earth then lay a blanket over it all. It is the ideal to sleep warm. Where ever you place your bed, lite up a fire for a few hours in order to dry up the ground and to heat it up. then remove the fire and clean the ground, lay canvas on the ground. You can also use a tent heater, although I have never done this myself. Since the heater stays outside, there are no smelly odors or dangerous gases, no chance of burning a child or sleeping bag and no condensation either.(runs on a 12V battery) Its best not to sleep too close to the camfire for obvious reasons.
Q:What are the dangers of spraying myself with a fire extinguisher?
This Site Might Help You. RE: Who invented the fire hydrant?
Q:Science fair ideas relating to disease/viruses?
Uh News flash: EVERYTHING they put in cigarettes is bad for you.
Q:Will wax warmers set off fire alarms?
Good snows on all 4 corners will do you well. Studs work best for ice, they do reduce traction slightly on dry pavement. Most people don't notice much difference. You shouldn't, if you drive reasonably. Studded snows will get you wherever you need to go. (If they can't, you shouldn't be going)
Q:How do you project Brett Anderson now and down the road?
Well, she didn't have all of her items taken from her. Like you said, she had paper from the Death Note. She also had a pencil or pen, and her cellphone. It is presumed that she used some fuel in Mello's motorcycle and equipment to help ignite the fire. To start the fire she could have used Mello's motorcycle equipment or her phone to make a spark. It's not that difficult to start a fire. The fuel in the truck, the blanket, these are all good, flammable substances capable of catching fire. Keep in mind, once Mello was out of the way, she was free to move about. She could have taken something from him, or gotten her things back.
Q:Do carpet mats put on the square carpet?
If the site is relatively high requirements of fire, you need to purchase the flame retardant carpet, which requires suppliers and the carpet must be flame retardant nylon 6.6 carpet, professional testing requirements are now reached the lowest CFL level, a higher level can reach BFL level, but BFL level less!
Q:What Safety Equipment for motorcycle?
Better safe then sorry my sister had problems with one of her cats and waited too long the day she was going to take him to the vet, she came home.. and .. tragicly it was too late dont waste anytime take himher to the vet asap
Q:2001 Dodge Durango Alarm problem?
Why would my kids be out so late at night anyhow??( I could see how the kids in Alaska might need reflective gear in the winter time, being as it's dark when they go to school and when they come home but what's the fear here?) Honestly, unless my kids are riding their bikesthey really don't need special clothing, and the bike helmet and the bike itself has reflective tape on it. Sounds like a good recipe for paranoid parent here, not to mention more useless junk for people spend their hard earned money on. Teach your kids about safety surebut they don't need to wear a leather suit with reflective lights, sirens and an umbrella attached to it to be safe. Good luck with this one, lmao.
