Q:I am considering getting my almost 3 year old a new twin-size or set of bunk beds. I'm not sure if anyone has had experience with younger children and bunk beds and if it was good/bad? Any problems going from toddler size to twin size?

Well, My son never liked to sleep in a toddler bed, and it was a waste of money when we bought that 5 in 1 crib, we went out and bought him a twin sized bed. it's big and he has been sleeping in it since he was 13 months, he is now 27 months. About bunk beds, I would wait until the child is 6 or 7 for bunk beds. My brother jumped off his bunk bed and broke his collarbone. My sister and I slept in bunk beds while we were in Spain, and she even rolled off the top with the protector on and secure, and fell to the ground. It's not safe at all. I would never trust a 3 yr old to play in his room , if he had a bunkbed, he will climb even if you try to take the stairs away, he will try. It's not a good idea. Buy the boy his favorite character sheets. My son loves Thomas the tank engine and loves going to sleep.

Q:What is the best bedding to reduce smell, and that is comfortable for the hamster

There are recycled paper products (Carefresh is one) that you can use that reduce odours and are super-absorbant. Whatever you do, don't use wood shavings because the scent can cause respiratory problems in small animals.

Q:I want a cheap, temporary bed because my mom is divorcing my dad and he's moving into an apartment and I want a temporary bed until he has more money to get a permenant house and stuff....

Bed in a bag is just sheets, a comforter and pillow covers. Go to the Frontgate web site and get the 'aerobed' that inflates in 3 min. and deflates in the same. It has legs, so it is up off the floor and is exceptionally easy to use. I have one and it's great.

I also want to caution you if you are ordering online, make sure you know how much it will cost to ship to your address. These beds are heavy and shipping is expensive. Some places will be more inclined to ship actual cost and others will charge you a fortune. Best of Luck.

I let my daughter sleep in my bed until about 3 months, then she started having sleep problems, she did not want to sleep unless I was there even for naps, so I moved her to her crib and after a few days she was used to it and sleeps a lot better. Her crib is still in my room. Once in a while if she wakes up too early (on weekends) I bring her into bed for an extra hour or two of sleep :D

Q:i want a smaller bed in my room because my current bed is taking too much space. are day beds worth getting and are they comfortable?

They're usually made more for sitting than for sleeping. A good twin bed frame with high quality mattress and foundation might work well. Good luck!

Q:For those of you who don't know this is a corner bed :

Mine's in a corner but it's pretty much a conventional bed. I don't have headboards on two sides. The big plus is you don't give up walking around space around the entire bed. If you never get out of bed on one side, why waste that acreage? Who has it to spare? I share with my wife and even so, sleeping against the wall isn't a problem for me. I just get up off the end of the bed, always have. It's never been an issue, and being able to tuck the bed into a corner in an 9x11 bedroom really helps keep the rest of the space functional.
