Q:I got a Alienware m15x about a year ago, and about 8 months ago on startup it would make two incredibly loud beeps and a screen would show saying 'your charger cable is not the reccomended 150w originally shipped', even thought it is. It would only happen very rarely at first, but now its nearly every time. I don't mind just ignoring it, but if there is a quick fix it would be nice.
Try going to the support site and seeing if there's a download called BIOS Flash or something similar. You might also try going into the BIOS yourself (It should say something like Press F2 to enter Setup) and looking around for anything out of the ordinary (as far as your knowledge extends.)
Q:So I have a ordinary pc with a 500gb seagate hardrive in...and I have another seagate hardrive I want to put in (also 500gb) but do I need the sata power cable since it is not the main hardrive or can I only insert the Data cable for the harddrive since I didn't get any cables with my hardrive do I need need both cables, the Data and power cables or can only use the data cable ?
You always need a power cable as well. The power cables are part of your computer's power supply unit and are never being shipped with harddrives.
Q:I need to know if the power light on the amp will turn on if I don't have the RCA cables hooked up or if you have to have them hooked up just to get power to the amp? I was just wondering because I just hooked up an amp and I can't get the power to come on, and I'm pretty sure the power, ground, and remote wire is hooked up good, it's the RCA cables i'm thinking is messed up, but would the power light come on even if those wasn't hooked up?
The power light should come on with or without the speaker wires or RCA cables from the stereo, but not all will, this is just a general rule. Double check your power hook up and see if it has power to it. Sometimes a little thing will throw the reset switch on the amp, check that also. This is assuming you have run proper power cables to the amp and have them hooked up to the proper connectors.
Q:My system was working fine until today. The bass stopped hitting to the music and thumps in intervals of about 5 seconds regardless of whether the music is turned up or down. I hooked up my system without my capacitor to see if this was the problem. It worked...but only for a minute. The bass was hitting like it was suppose to but all of a sudden it went back to the interval thumping and the power cable got hot to the touch and the fuse inside the holder was melted. What the heck is the problem?
wow, you need bigger cable, right now. if your cable overheats and melts the casing, you're screwed.
Q:Well yea, I just got my 8800 gs today... I just recently upgraded from a 7600 gt. Well I've never had to install a card like this. It comes with a power adapter. I have no idea how to install this power adapter. It had a connector for the video card, and 2 other connectors opposite. The 2 other connectors only had 3 pins, but fit in the my 4 pins. I've connected one of the pins to my power supply and have no more 4 pins. I just have 2 quick questions. Will it affect my video card if I only have 1 of the connectors connected to my power supply?andWill it still work if I connected the 3 pin to the 4pin on my power supply, will it still function correctly?
okorder , that I gave you.
Q:I need to resolve a debate- is there a power/telephone line under the sea running between the UK and USA? Or is the communication just done by satellite?
**Power** cables, no. But transatlantic telephone cables still exist and are still in use.
Q:My 4 gauge power cable is hooked up to the battery's positive terminal and the other end to my amplifier's terminal. Is it safe to accidentally touch the ring terminal (end) of this power cable? I won't feel any electrical shock or anything will I?
You can touch it but do not hit any metal with it or you can unhook your battery

Q:When wiring a power cable to your car battery, should you always put a fuse close to the battery or does it matter if you don't use one?
depends, if you don't care about what you are wiring up, then no you don't need to, the fuse is only there to stop a surge too strong for your equipment. usually your battery won't send out surges too strong but its possible if your alternator acts funny
Q:There are a few thin cables running from the power button on your computer onto the motherboard. What are these cables called?
Go to pc repair shop. And ash them.
