- Q:I am tired of all the dust and lint, on my old cloth sofa, and was thinking of getting leather, but my small dogs might scratch it. Does anybody have a micro fiber sofa, and does the dust, and lint stick to it? And how is it keeping it clean? Any website I can see some review on micro fiber?I vacuum my old couch, and than when the sun shines in, I can slap it, and see a dust cloud! I hate that!
- I have a microfiber sofa a microfiber sectional, both from Ashley. I have several pieces in my home from Ashley. Their stuff isn’t well made so it won’t last for decades, but it’s cheap enough I can replace my stuff every few years. The sofa is about four years old, and our stain guard is still holding up fine (or so says that glass of red wine I dropped on it a few months ago…). It could stand to be steam cleaned, but my only complaint about the couch is that the cushion filling didn’t hold up well. The fabric is fine. The sectional is only a couple of months old, but no complaints so far. I have two cats and their hair definitely sticks to this fabric. I have found that rubber cleaning gloves are great for removing hair. Rub your gloved hands along the fabric and the hair will separate from the fabric.

- First up (for me) how much I spend on cleaning a leather corner sofa depends on its cost and quality of leather used. E.g., if it's a high-priced sofa, I use a manufacturer-recommended leather cleaning protection kit so that the durability and shine of the leather is maintained. Stains are best removed as soon as you get them on the sofa (before dust, grime or oil make a mess of it). When you're dealing with liquid spills, use a dry cloth to soak up the liquid first. Then dab the stain and use a moist cloth (dipped in warm water) to rub it off the sofa. Any stains that still remain can be removed with a neutral detergent or saddle soap meant for leather. Avoid using too much water as it dries the leather and leaves cracks that are an eyesore. Never place your leather corner sofa in direct sunlight as it can ruin the leather and also cause cracks. If you need to use ammonia + water to get rid of bad leather smell, make sure you leave the sofa to dry in a well-ventilated area (never in heat or direct sunlight). Once dry, use a leather conditioner to give it a brand new look.

- Choose one that is sturdy, the framework. Choose your fabric wisely. I bought one that is covered in that new chenile fabric and it makes those little pills, or balls up. I have to use one of those fabric shavers. Choose a color to compliment your decor and maybe something that won't show dirt or stains. I don't like the sofas with skirting on them. Something is always hiding under there. If you choose one with the pillows for the back they will get saggy..

- I looked on the bottom of the sofa and found a piece of material @ 1 square and snipped it down in size some then I kind of rolled it up and inserted it into the new burn hole, opened it up with a ice pick to flatten it back out and glued it into place.

- Sofa beds vary as to comfort. The more expensive, the better. But honestly for a bedroom you would want a regular bed with a mattress and box spring. Sofa beds are more for the occasional overnight guest and not nightly sleeping. Don't trade comfort for space.
