Q:having a difficult time finding a wire for my remoter starter: The white wire to the coil is the tach wire. If you have the 4.3L,there is a white wire with a black tracer from the ignition control module to the coil. If that doesn't help,on the PCM,in the red connector,terminal 10 is the tach wire from the PCM to the Instrument cluster,this wire is also white.

Q:Ceiling light junction box has 2 wires (black and white on both). One of the two is hot (always juiced). The other of the two travels down the wall to the switch junction box, and this is the only wire in this junction box. When I connect the two blacks and the two whites of the ceiling junction box, the switch wires become juiced. But when I try to hook up a switch to those switch wires, the switch doesn't cut the power to the ceiling junction box when I flip the switch on and off. Why?? -very frustrated.: You should check your building code in your area even though 12/2 is the most common allowed wire for homes some juridictions require 10/2 which is a larger gage wire. If you do not use what is code than if it causes a fire your insurance may not pay due to you usse a wire that is not up to code

Just make sure you know the rms power of the amp and related current requirements so you choose the correct wire size. Also understand that the unusually inexpensive kits are not usually very honest about the actual size of the wire. 8 awg will cover you up to about 600w rms. An 8 awg kit should have a 50-60A fuse. 4 awg will cover up to 1000-1200w rms and should include at LEAST an 80A fuse, preferably 100-150A.

It is not safe to connect copper to aluminum wiring when the aluminum is SOLID core. Many new fixtures come with a silver colored wiring that is STRANDED and these are connected to copper wires as general practice without any problems.

Yes, you use normal copper wire that is insulated with rubber, plastic or enamel. Enamelled wire is the stuff you see in motor windings, comparitively fine and coated with transparent enamel for insulation.
