Q:can you lay ceramic tile outside?
This Site Might Help You. RE: can you lay ceramic tile outside? We want to put ceramic tile on our front porch, its fully covered but we were told you had to put porceline tile outside not ceramic. Does anyone know or have you done this?
Q:porcelain floor tiles?
No you shouldn t.. Dirt, dust and every day stuff will accumulate in the joints and be almost impossible to get out. All tiles are designed to have a space, some smaller and some larger than others. The grout the goes between the tiles is part of the system to make it stable. Sealing the grout is a major help in keeping it clean and stain free, if this is your concern. Porcelain is made to have a sanded grout along with a space of 1/8 to about 1/4 inch. Or 3/6 mm This spacing will also help make up for minor tile sizes that will throw you off if you try to but them tight. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there.. GL
Q:Tearing up carpet, tile entire house?
do it yourself and save tons of money.
Q:I am going to be using a self stick floor tile in a mobile home. What can I use under it as a vapor barrier?
Staple the Luan over the tile make sure you use alot of staples to make sure your floor doesn't give at all and use liquid nails adhesive to help hold the Luan down. Also make sure no staples are sticking up because that would damage the floor tile. Then use a primer to paint on the luan to help the adhesive stick. I would also reccomend using addional adhesive. The adhesive on the back of the tile doesn't hold up very well. Spread vinyl floor tile adhesive over the floor and once it is tacky put your floor down. Make sure to let the floor acclimate to the room at least 48 hrs before installation. After you lay the floor it needs to be rolled with a 100lb. roller.
Q:Porcelain tile, to leave gap or not?
You can buy plastic spacers from tile shops in various sizes, In the shop I would place a meter of tiles on the floor and use some spacers to get the look you like. Then you know what space to leave for grout.
Q:Slate tile in leopard gecko cage?
A slate tile sounds great, I never thought of that. But grout is a terrible idea! It's chemical. Animals, esp. small ones with heat mats lamps, cannot be around chemicals like that. You're not even supposed to clean their cages with a sponge because of minor chemicals-they're very sensitive. There is no guide because that's a jerry rigged solution that isn't good for animals. And anyways if you grouted the tile in, you wouldn't be able to clean the cage good enough.
Q:Looking for tiles for old bathroom?
Latch Tile in San Francisco..they most retro and out of stock tile.
Q:What size tile would work and look best?
I just put tiles on mine and used a combination of two sizes - square and rectangular in a pattern though they are the same kind of tiles. I like the look. For what it's worth.
Q:tile backsplash on drywall?
It can be done directly onto drywall. Hung ceramic tile for many years B4 backerboard or wetboard drywall came out Tiles in my place have been on for many years in around the tub and on the counter. They are not submerged underwater so it is not a big deal as is made out to be. I wouldn't bother with the backerboard on a backsplash. So long as the drywall is dry and the drywall paper still firmly affixed you should have no problem. So long as you grout properly(so that the water does not get past to the paper to get the paper and drywall wet in flood conditions) it will be just fine.
Q:Installing a glass tile backsplash?
Dry wall is fine and you might want to use a mastic so they don t slide.. Proper setting of the tile is important.. I gently beat the tile in w/ my grout float while I m setting them.. Full coverage is also a must since you can sometimes see thru some glass tiles..I ve never had a problem with this though..
