Q:Im doing a presentation on Metal music for my class and can anyone give me any iformation to add like history
Normally I can, but it's pretty hard trying to type all the subgenres of metal on an iPod keyboard. I shall prove it when I get access to a computer tomorrow. Edit: or today! Here I go: (all have the word metal after the name of the genre) Avant-Garde Black Death Doom Thrash Symphonic Speed Blackend Death Blackened Doom Black/Death Black/Doom Doom/Death Epic Doom Power/Doom Sludge/ Doom Sludge Metalcore Deathcore Grindcore (iffy) NWOBHM NWOAHM (iffy) Melodic Black Industrial Gothic Dark Stoner/ Doom Death 'n' Roll Heavy Funeral Doom Funeral Drone Drone/Doom Sludge/Drone Drone Funeral/Death Sludge/Death Black 'n' Roll Blackened Punk Progressive Progressive Death Melodeath Brutal Deathcore Brutal Deathmetal Goregrind Deathgrind Folk Viking (ties into folk metal and black metal) Electronic (iffy) Glam Symphonic Black Raw Black National Socialism Black Atmospheric Black Atmospheric Death Atmospheric Sludge Post-Metal Black/ Grind Pagan Death/Thrash Groove Gothic Black Post- Thrash Southern Stoner/Southern Stoner/Sludge Southern/Sludge Melodic Doom Psychedelic Doom Technical Death Crossover Thrash Black/Thrash Progressive Thrash Symphonic Power Progressive Power Neoclassical Folk Power Progressive Psychedelic Doom/Stoner
Q:i was listening metal and rock since i was 5...i loved it so much...but there is one thing that i just couldn't understand...really quot;what is the difference between death and heavy metal??quot; i am sure that death metal have a lot of screaming in every song, but i just cannot figure that out!.. :P thank again..
Metal working is, generically, the permanent deformation of a piece of metal. Can be done many different ways. Hot working is defined as working the metal at the recrystallization temperature (the temperature at which a cold worked structure will be fully recrystallized in 1 hour). As a rule of thumb, the rexstal temp is one half the absolute melting point for pure metals (the homologous temperature). This rule of thumb can be off significantly when you are dealing with alloys, particularly highly alloyed compositions. In these cases, the alloying can increase the recrystallization temperature and, therefore, require higher temperatures to achieve hot working. Hope this helps.
Q:if the number of protons, electrons and neutrons are given, is it possible to judge if an element is a metal or non-metal? (p=17, n=18, e=17) i know that this is chlorine and that chlorine is a non-metal but is there any other way ???
Well..i am listening metal for 2years and i like lots of bands,my favorite bands are probably traditional bands like Priest(Painkiller is my favorite song ever,.everything about that song is perfect),Maiden,Accept,Saxon(All Hell breaking loose.havent heard something as catchy and heavy as this song!)I also like thrash:Slayer,Destruction,Evile, early Sepultura(Beneath the Remains is the best thrash album ever!),Testament,Exodus..folk metal:Ensiferum,Moonsorrow(please listen to the song Sankaritarina and try to tell me that that song isnt a masterpiece!!) Melodic Death Metal:Amon Amarth,Arch Enemy,Insomnium...i dont like brutal death like CC..but i somehow adore Nile. uld it be because of the Egyptian atmosphere..haha havent seen that you mentioned Metallica..do you hate them?I hope not..they are a band which got me into metal(first metal song i ever heard was The Day that Never Comes..) cheers my friend.:))))))).stay heavy!!! Btw..last week i discovered Doro Pesch, man...she has to be the most beautiful woman in rock-metal industry!!!!!!!
Q:Does anyone know of ANY metal songs that have Dubstep drops?
Metals cannot react with each other individually. Theymay only displace each other from their metal salts depending on their lace on the reactivity series. E.g AgCl + Na ---> NaCl (table salt) + Ag(silver metal) This is known as a displacement reaction. When we hear the name stainless steal or brass and itis a combination of metals, they aren't actually reacted but combined like a mixture. You can say it is like makinga cake e.g stainless steal is a combination of iron, nickel and chromium.
Q:I need some death metal songs to learn on the bass guitar.
what do metalloids do not have
Q:Or any metal band
Chemical Properties of Metals: 1) Usually have 1-3 electrons in their outer shell 2) Lose their valence electrons easily 3) Form oxides that are basic 4) Are good reducing agents 5) Have lower electronegativities Chemical Properties of non-Metals: 1) Usually have 4-8 electrons in their outer shell 2) Gain or share valence electrons easily 3) Form oxides that are acidic 4) Are good oxidizing agents 5) Have higher electronegativities Physical Properties of Metals: 1) Good electrical conductors and heat conductors 2) Malleable - can be beaten into thin sheets 3) Ductile - can be stretched into wire 4) Possess metallic luster 5) Opaque as thin sheet 6) Solid at room temperature (except Hg) Physical Properties of non-Metals: 1) Poor conductors of heat and electricity 2) Brittle - if a solid 3) Nonductile 4) Do not possess metallic luster 5) Transparent as a thin sheet 6) Solids, liquids or gases at room temperature
Q:ok so i'm 13 been listening to metal for almost 2 years and i'm f**kin tired of all the posers i mean they consider themself hardcore because they listen to slipknot, avenged sevenfold, atreyu, korn, linkin park or any shitty nu metal or metalcore band and they don't know anything about anything about metal they consider slipknot death metal? marlyn manson black metal? come on and they always insult death metal i mean i dont listen to death metal but i dont diss death it takes alot of talent. is it just me or are posers ruining metal for us real die hard metalheads?
i don't think nwobhm is a genre, more like a cultural phenomenon or regional scene. the name is self-explanatory: it's heavy metal, but newer and british. as for your other question, i'm not sure i've ever heard of dark metal, unless you mean black metal, of which there are many differences between it and death metal.
Q:more than half of the elements are metals. what does that mean? how do they get that classification? and some metals aren't even elements. they are compounds like steel. why are those metals?
*The ores listed under at the instant are not all of the ores for that mineral* Chalcopyrite, Azurite, Malachite, Chrysocolla Tetrahedrite, or Tennanite = Copper Iron oxide = Iron Acanthite (Silver oxide), Cerargyrite (silver chloride), or interior of sight silver = Silver Smaltite, Linnaeite, Cobaltite, or Glaucodot = Cobalt
Q:By metal i mean Death metal, industial, melodic metal, that kinda stuff. Also who listens to these bands:-Devil Driver-Behemoth-White Chapel-In Flames-Cannible Corpse-Lamb of God
The active ingredient in bleach is the hypochlorite ion ClO- (Na+ salt) which is a strong oxidizing agent: ClO- + H2O + 2e- -> Cl- + 2OH- E = 0.89V [1] I have +0.81 V from another source. From this reduction potential bleach should from a thermodynamic stand point oxidize just about every common metal with the exception of gold (Au) and possibly silver (Ag) as they are have higher reduaction potentials [1]. Let's take Ni as an example: Ni2+(aq) + 2e- -> Ni(s) E = -0.25 V turning the last equation around, changing the sign and combining it with the first equation we have Ni(s) + ClO- + H2O -> Ni2+(aq) + Cl- + 2OH- E = +1.14 V the +ve potential makes it highly allowed. But thermodynamics does not tell about the rate. What probably happens is that Ni(OH)2 precipitates and protects the surface from further attack Ksp for Ni(OH)2 is 5.48×10-16 [2]. Metals that are amphoteric (react with acid and base) such as Al and Zn will probably dissolve in bleach soln. But again the surface of Al is Al2O3 that may protect the Al from attack at RT. Things to think about.
Q:is symphonic black metal Real black metal?
I like black metal more, because you can incorporate a lot more elements into it than in death metal, plus I'm not a fan of death growls (although there is one death metal band I like: Cannibal Corpse). I'd have to say my favorite black metal bands are Dimmu Borgir, Satyricon, and Gorgoroth.
