- Q:Anyone who has, or their children have, a captains bed...was it a good investment? Im getting my 4 yr old a bed (currently in a toddler bed)...i found a captain's bed i really like, but it is $349. It is well made, and sturdy, but i was really only planning on spending maybe 300 total, including mattresses. Now with this bed, plus bunky board, and mattress i will be at over 500. Is it a good investment? Did you notice them being sturdier than just a headboard/footboard? Thumbs up or down? Thanks!
- Check out your local Ethan Allen Furniture Gallery for a Captain's bed. Why there? Go when they have their annual sale. You will be able to save $$$ and walk away with an outstanding product, that WILL last for many years to come. As for the bed itself; I think they just get in the way. They are very hard to make(blankets and sheets tend to drift out of reach. Honestly, I would consider something else that will meet your needs for the long haul. Also, try your local membership club such as Sam's , Price Club/Costco, or BJ's for some good bargains on mattresses.

- I had the same problem with my 3yr old son, he's now 4. I put a twin mattress beside our bed and he slept there and liked it, then we slowly moved him into his room and now he thinks he's a Big Boy for sleeping in his own room. Good Luck!

- No, thank God. Beds don't have bedbugs -- people have bedbugs. If one of these people comes for a visit, your bed may then acquire bedbugs. They didn't used to be this common, and you could live a lifetime without encountering any. Like fleas -- a visiting dog can give you fleas, too.

- You have to be friends with one of the guys who work at the construction shop place... then they will make you a lvl 3 house... then you can get a Big bed!!

- Your question would suggest that you are buying bunk beds for ONE kid. Presumably to provide sleeping place for a guest. If that's the case, I'd suggest that you consider a trundle bed instead. (see link)

- At one point in time we had our mattress on the floor, basically around the same time as yours, our son was begining to climb into the bed. We also didnt want him to fall and hurt himself so we did this. But only for a little while.

- A bed in a bag is not an actual bed but bedding. Sheets, comforter, bed skirt etc. They sometimes vary in number of pieces but the point is that everything matches or compliments everything else. It's a really easy way to make you bedroom look well decorated if you're not very good at that type of thing or just don't have time or whatever.
