Q:pretty much just wanted to see if it would work. I dug a hole put several different layers of wet hay(dryed grass), vermiculite, rye flour, water, and old dead wood, like a tree that's been dead on the ground for years ate up by bugs and what not to the point where its orange(I shredded up the wood pretty good ). I also crumbled up one of my B+ mycilium cakes on the bottom and on the some semi top layer. Just to try even more I squirted about 10cc of My spore syringe on multiple layers. I kno I probably should of used poo but like I said I just wanted to try. Think it might work? Tips would be appreciated. Thank u
That's okorder
Q:Wanted to know because I have both a male and female box turtle and they have been hooking up.
can i keep her with her young
Q:Vermiculite holds water very wellpeat holds water very wellDoes peat contain nutrients?if not, why is this mixture used, i mean i thought this medium is used because some seeds may develop during stratification but if these soilless medium doesnt contain nutrients why are they used?
Pink Buffalo is good. Inoculate rye and allow it to fully colonize. Then spawn to horse manure. If rye isn't available use wild birdseed with a high millet content. If manure isn't available then fruit from your substrate directly. Rye will work better than wbs though. Vermiculite will help make a casing layer but isn't necessary for a substrate because it has no nutritional value. The flushes will be good as long as they fruit in high humidity with plenty of fresh air.
Q:can i use vermiculite as a substrate for my leopard gecko? if not, what else could i use instead?

Q:I have a gravid female and i have and incubator set up. the incubator is a simple container with sand, a container with vermiculite and a heat mat. I also have a theremomitor. how can i keep the tempurture at a constant temp.? I have it jumping around from 85-95 how do i keep it at the same tempurature? She is about to lay. All answers are appriciated.
a thermostat of course :) thats the only way i can think of to get a guaranteed constant temperature. my incubator is a cooler box with a heatmat on a stat, a smaller box of vermiculite and a digi thermometer - and it works fine! I wouldnt trust it without a stat. nor would a trust the mats in my vivs without one
Q:I have to store some Coast Redwood seeds in a bag mixed in with vermiculate. What is that stuff? Is there a way I can grow the seeds in vermiculate without have to put all of the seeds together? I want to grow them in their own pots. Also, How do you grow American Elm? I planted some a while ago, but none have sprouted..... Do they need moisture?
Any garden center should carry it. Home Depot Lowes do, too. It's commonly used for plants, to mix with soil.
Q:Hi the angle of the cracks formed is almost constant and is about 45 degree(not sure). can you please tell me the exact reason for that?please I need the answer uurgently
Vertisols have high amounts (30%) shrink and swell clays (2:1) such as vermiculites and smectites. The shrink and swell characteristics are responsible for the opening and closing of the cracks in the soil depending on the moisture. These soils crack on the shear planes, when the hydration of clays exceed the shear strength from a range of 10-60 degrees above the horizontal. Not always 45 degrees. hope this helps. Q:How do you grow your vermiculite? Do you place it at the top or bottom of the soil, or mixing?
In general, the flowers are more suitable for the near neutral acidic soil, so we choose when soil? Choose high organic content, loose, well drained acid soil, and then depending on the specific circumstances in which you can add sand, ash, perlite, vermiculite, sawdust and soil to become composite soil the original ecological environment, simulate plants. This kind of plant will be healthy.
Q:I planted some tomato seeds at the start of June along with a ton of other vegetables. The seeds sprouted but haven't grown over two inches high, and haven't shown any significant growth in over three weeks. I've noticed that when it rains my other plants drain without a problem but my tomato plant always seems to be flooding and I have to bail it out to keep from completely drowning my plants. I checked the planter and nothing seems to be wrong with it. All of the drainage holes are intact so I can only assume that there's an issue with the soil. I'm planning on digging them up and replanting them but I want to know what to add to the soil to help it drain so I don't have this problem and can promote growth. (sorry this is so long!)
It's supposed to be moist, and the proper temperature may feel a bit cool to your fingers, but it should be well above room temperature--I believe roughly the same conditions that your leo needs, 85-90 degrees, though check a care sheet that discusses breeding.
Q:We have two red beardies and had them together for breeding purposes and we noticed that the female was getting large and lumpy so we assumed she was pregnant. We put a box of sand in her tank and she would get in it and dig around all the time. One day we came in and she had laid her eggs (all 28) NOT in the sand and they were all dried out and ruined. So, my question is, does this bearded dragon just lack the maternal instincts they are suppose to have? Since this was her first clutch it is possible the eggs were slugs and that is why they were all dried out by the time we found them, but still I thought it was common sense for them to lay the eggs in the sand. Any help would be great because I am worried she will lay another clutch and ruin them too.
usually they lay them out of the sand box if they are infertile
