Q:I have a 2001 chevy malibu and need to know how to check if the water pump needs replaced. The engine has been running much hotter than normal and is leaking coolant.
have a plumer come look at it every so often
Q:Question for you. I'm looking for a 12v (no AC converter, please) water pump to drive up to 4 water misters. Needs to run off the battery, without an AC converter (already found those). The pump will pull from a water reservoir and provide cooling relief on hot days through the misters. BTW... the pump should be reasonably small, limited to a few pounds...If you have any ideas, please advise. Thanks again,Robert
Again, I'm going to make you work for this one. Call around to junk yards. See if they have any parts you can use. There's a bunch of Pull Apart places where you can look up online to see if they have any particular part you're looking for. I don't know how much a typical automobile water pump weighs, but I don't imagine it would be too big. Ask around. If you know any mechanics, or just people who work on cars as a hobby, they may know. Sorry I'm not much help in the automotive department. I can put gas in it, start it, change my oil, and change a tire. But as far as the rest goes, I don't know too much.
Q:Hey guys, I have a American Volkswagen Jetta 1999 manual transmission Gas Fuel, and the water pump is messed and I need to know where it goes. In front of the radiator? or somewhere else? Does anyone know where I can get any websites showing me instructions? Thanks.
I buy a Haynes manual for every car I buy. They are specific to your car, have great details, and include pictures. You can buy them at auto parts chain stores for under $20. They are creating CD/DVD versions, but I don't want to touch my computer when I'm greasy. Definitely replace the timing belt while you're in there (and every other belt along the way). No sense in putting in all that work and not replace a $10 A/c belt.
Q:I think the water pump is going out in my truck can I still drive it short distance if I put water in it first?
You might be able to drive short distances. but if you rev the engine it might go out. to be safe i would to it. if it still works and hasent went out on you yet than you might be able to drive it. Good Luck
Q:Hi I just brought a chrysler sebring V6 that needs a water pump. I found a water pump on OKorder for only $30 and it only had 900 miles and it works great. Should I buy it?
No. Absolutely not. New water pumps or remanufactured water pumps aren't that expensive. The money you would save doesn't justify the extra costs involved if the used pump ends up being bad. Used parts are fine to use for a lot of repairs - water pumps definitely aren't one of them.
Q:How can I do a pressure test on my 350's water pump. Some one suggested I do it to make sure it needs replacing.
You cant do a pressure test just on the water pump. But if you go to an auto parts store you can rent a pressure tester that you put on where the radiator cap goes.It will test the whole system for leaks. But sometimes the water pump wont leak. It will freeze up and stop spinning. What makes you think its the water pump?
Q:I just came from my dealership and they tested my car with a pressure test. They didnt notice any coolant leaks. Last week my car I noticed that the coolant level has decreased. I had to replenish it in an emergency effort. I am curious to check the water pump. I am going to ask my mechanic tomorrow if he could check it and how much does something like that cost to check? I DO NOT want any coolant leakage getting into my engine because that could present a problem. How can it possibily get to the engine???
If you had a water pump leak you'd know it! There would be coolant draining out of water pump seal the minute you filled the cooling system. A water pump leak doesn't get coolant into the motor. It will get the timing belt wet with antifreeze and cause the belt to jump time and possibly bend your valves. The only way you'll get coolant in the motor oil is if there is a head gasket leak. To check for that you need to have a block test done.
Q:A pump, the flow rate of 30T/H per hour, lift 30 meters, should be allocated more power motor?
The actual use of power should be at least 5.5kW, I did not find 30t/H lift 30 meters of the water pump, and only he approached the model, supporting a larger power, and will not increase the power consumption
Q:Why does the water pump in the tank pull out the power supply and then plug it in?
Unplug the power, pump into the water, exhaust air, and then connected to the power supply
Q:There is a 5.5KW before the pump head is now 25 meters and flow of 20 cubic meters, but not up to the requirements, I think this is like with a motor pump, lift more than 20 meters, the flow is about 40 cubic meters of water pump, please inform the models and parameters, thank you
With the motor pump are pump according to the actual need of work with you in the head, under the same water doubled, the motor is certainly not enough, you should this motor pump change together in order to meet the requirements of.
