1. How much space your kitchen has. They can be enormous! We have a space saver one that clips on a regular table chair. 2. How easy the tray is to remove. 3. I prefer ones that recline a little for when baby is younger. 4. One that you can clean easily especially the seat covers. Babies are really messy eaters!

If you can walk then no you don't need the chair. I would take it easy for a few weeks to let your knee heal though.

Q:I found a very cool shaped very old chair at a junk shop for $5. It is in fairly good shape and sturdy (none of the arms or legs wiggle). But it is missing the seat, which I would imagine was one time a woven cane seat that has fell out. I would prefer not to re-cane a new seat (I have done this before, but I don't find it comfortable to sit on this type of seat and they don't wear well). I would much rather put in a padded upholstered seat, but am not sure how? There is just a large hole in the middle where the seat used to be, and I'm having trouble thinking of ways to attach a piece of wood with padding and upholstery. It doesn't have to be super sturdy, as it won't have more than a 170lb person in it, and will more than likely not be used daily (it will be for our bedroom). Q:I'm wondering if it takes a relatively strong person to break a mid-quality chair over someone's head. Could the average person do it?

It really depends on how the chair is made and where it hits. However, a chair of decent quality is not going to break over a person's head easily. If a chair is designed for a full-grown man to sit in, it's going to take a lot of impact to break it. After all, they hold 150, 200 pounds sitting down, getting up, sitting down... Basically, the chairs you see breaking on TV? All weakened. Even a fairly low quality chair, smashed on a large and strong guys head is going to hurt and could cause damage. A well made chair? You'd be more likely to kill the guy than break the chair.

Q:Just purchased 10 ladder back country chairs from a not so clean house. The chairs have a straw design I guess for the seat? The design comes in on all four sides. The straw looks like rope to me just very old and dirty. The chairs are old but could be beautiful again. They are in excellent condition from what I can see, just dirty and smoked up. Can someone that knows about old furniture please help me. I do not want to mess these chairs up by doing something I shouldn't. I planned on putting murphy's oil soap in very warm water and give them a good cleaning. What would you perfer I use. I've been looking for these chairs for along time. It was hard trying to find 10 chairs all the same size and color. Thanks

i prefer bean bags. they are more comfortable.

Try oberving other chairs and their designs * Metal chairs work because part of the back feet hold the back * Plactic chairs have L shapes Legs, kinds balancing the weight * Other plastic chairs have 2 L shapes in the legs....I can't explain without a picture. * Another method is instead of using four legs, it only uses two sides. From side view, they look like rectangles kinda leaning to the back. From the front, they look like a square being pressed down ( Big down, small up) My advice - Observe other designs.
