- Q:my sub came loose and started sliding around in my boot until the power cable got ripped out of the amp while i was driving at it was on. When i tried putting the power back in it just blew the fuses, so i bought some more, and they blew as soon as they went in as well, and one of the bits of metal melted putting one it! strathfield said its 45 for an inspection, plus the cost of fixing it. any ideas whats wrong with it and if i can fix it myself??cheers.
- Check your wiring, you have a wire cross if it bows when turned on. Also you might be using the wrong fuse, what is the rating of your amp (15 amps = 1800 watts). Or you are diving the amp too hard and prevent it from damage and blowing the fuse. Upgrade the fuse to 25 amps and see what happens.

- Like so many answers: it depends. A power cable for a desk top computer is usually expendable. A power cable running from a generator to a junction box is not. or property book will tell you what it is.

- It should be okay, LAN cables are meant to be up to 100 meters long, your shorter cables shouln't pick up too much interference. Also, the wires are shielded and in twisted pairs which helps to negate interference. Not only that but for this reason the network adaptors will be designed to filter out low frequencies.
- Q:So I was replacing the processor in my Laptop (Inspiron M5030) and I accidentally puled apart the cable connected to the power button. I couldn't see a clear way to connect it back, and I was wondering if there was any way I could do it myself or would I have to buy a new part?It's not the end you plug into the computer itself, it's attached to the end that's screwed into the computer.

- Q:I live in the Arizona desert, on a flood plain. Most of the time things are pretty dry. But during monsoon season the area I live in experiences flooding. I am planning a shallow, square, sunken pond. The main pond will be 4.10' L x 4.11' W x 3' deep. I plan to build an 8wide wall around the pond to keep out flood water. - You should use a concrete sealant, it can't hurt. Put the cable under the foundation in PVC and it will be fine.
- Q:Is it? I leave the power cable for hours when at home, when letting it process video and such and sometimes drain the battery when not used much.Thanks for any help.
- It isn't good to overcharge a Li-Ion batter, but some devices/batteries are better than others at preventing damage even when there is a continuous supply of power. I'm assuming it's a lithium-ion battery. If it isn't you need to throw your laptop away and buy a new one with a li-ion batter :) On a more serious note, it probably isn't GOOD for it, but it isn't TERRIBLE either. They say that li-ion batteries aren't susceptible to memory loss, but that is debated by people who actually use the device. However, li-ion batteries WILL expire after being charged a certain number of times, so it is best to allow it to (almost) fully discharge before recharging. When you notice that it's fully charged, go ahead and unplug it if possible, and when you need it to charge, just plug it back in. But I'm no battery expert, so your best option would be to call a computer store (or battery store) and ask them. Or perhaps there are some battery experts browsing Yahoo answers tonight?
