I just watched that movie last night :) I would say that Crane is a criminologist which is the the scientific study of crime and criminal behavior and law enforcement. In which you would need to study psychology and sociology. Many colleges also have a criminology major. If not, then I would say that he is a psychiatrist (a medical doctor that deals with workings of the mind) who is used as a consult by the Gotham City Police Department. To be a psychiatrist, one needs a medical degree, and to also study psychology and sociology. However, to by a psychologist, you don't need the medical degree. I want to major in psychology, so I've done this research haha. Hope this helps!
