Q:Recently I have been working on a beer pong table. What I really want is the cups to not topple over when they get hit by the ping pong ball. So I have seen an idea where you can cut circular cup holes into a piece of plexiglass or glass like sheet and slide the cups into them to prevent them from falling over.My question to you is where would I find plexiglass or a glass like sheet?
if u are using it to house any thing that needs allot of water remember to get the right thickness and if u want to build a huge tank. That can become very costly i looked into buying bulk glass and building my own and it turned out it is cheaper to buy an already made tank i saved 100 buying from a store and i got a 60 gallon and planed on building a 50 gallon but maybe u have your reasons so any place that sells glass will do i would recommend trying to go to a ware house tho not a stupid store that will rip u off. i cant give u any names because each city will probably be different glass people like when i wanted to get my glass fore my tank i went to van island windows they where the cheapest but they are only located on Vancouver island (Victoria)
Q:I admit I haven’t seen these in years and I'm not sure I’m even using the right term. The only slide shows I’ve seen or made in the past 7 years were Power Point ones. But several years ago I remember these clear plastic sheets that could be printed on with my simple, cheap, disposable printer (a Lexmark that came free with my PC).I have a little 3 in 1 Inkjet (Epson Stylus CX4800) and I want to be able to print on thin sheets of plastic. QUESTIONSDo they still sell those sheets? What are they called?Who sells them?Do you think they would work in an Inkjet or would I need to find someone with a Laser or other type of printer? Thanks
Overhead transparencies - You can purchase them in write-on, inkjet printer compatible, and laser printer compatible. Your local office supply probably has them in stock. Be sure you get the ones specified for inkjet printers. They have a special coating that will absorb the ink. You can also check places like Avery and Staples online and find them. Good luck with your print job!
Q:I just bought a piece of mdf that i cut to the size i need, not to make my table complete i need to find some plastic to go on top (exactly like how you buy study desks from the shops. its that very thin sheet that just covers the table) I also would like an unusual colout like pale light green or white) i could not find the table size that is right for me so i made it myself by just adding it on top of my old table.
This may not quite be what you are looking for but why not check out 'Formica' type counter/table top products at places like Home Depot? You might find something close to the colour you want and get advice in regards to fastening it in place.
Q:Do plastic sheets have any electrical conductivity?
No, plastic sheets do not have any electrical conductivity.
Q:Sometimes when there is heavy rain, water seeps into the basement through cracks in the walls and floor. We do have french drains and a sump pump. We tried to place plastic sheeting along one side of the house. Previously, there was some green algae growing on that side. Now the entire side is covered in green algae. What should we do?
How about putting extensions on the gutter spouts so they move the excess run off water away from the foundation. The plastic will not keep the water from getting onto the basement. Since the plastic is NOT sealed to the ground water will flow under it and continue into the basement. Also, find and seal any cracks in your foundation. You can also hire a professional to waterproof the entire foundation. However, if you have a high water table in your area the water will come up from under the foundation during heavy rains.
Q:I'm looking to buy some heavy duty clear plastic sheets/strips that you typically see in the grocery store that separate the cold rooms from the colder rooms. I'm looking to get some so I can hang them from my gazebo to protect the innards from the elements. No need to comment on how ugly it will look... I'm going for function not fashion. The only thing I can find are really thin but large plastic tarps, which look like they would fly away in a light breeze.
Look for that in the paint dept. of you local DIY store (Home Depot, Lowes, etc.). You can choose the thickness you prefer, which is referred to as Mils...the higher the number, the thicker the plastic. You will probably want at least a 2mil, I would suggest 5mil if it is to last thru the hot summer sun...and it comes in assorted lenghts with approximately a 6ft. width. As for your project being unsightly, it doesn't have to be that either. I attacked a similar project myself and it came out superbly! I used inexpensive lx2x6's to make a frame and attached plastic to the boards with a staple gun (be sure to double the plastic over where you staple it-like a hem) then attached those to the existing 4x4 posts on my open patio. Came out looking like a professional greenhouse, and was easy to take down when it became too hot in the summer. GL!
Q:I will be adding a dehumidifier in the spring.
Yes, you must replace it the soonest possible. Mold can become airborne when disturbed. Spores that travel in the air can easily settle on mold prone surface and grow rapidly. Molds are very stubborn, once they start to flourish, it's hard to remove then completely. Therefore, you should take the precaution step by replacing the moldy plastic sheeting and remove any visible mold at its first appearance.
Q:What's the difference between plastic sheet and plastic?
From the processing method, sheet metal and ordinary plastic are quite different, it must go through the frame and feet cut from a piece of sheet material, then strict grinding and polishing process, the complex program together with the mirror frame and foot hinge.
Q:when you go into a huge refrigerator thats door remains open and has plastic ribbons for insulation
Are you kidding? Why did you even bother getting a dog if you were just going to throw him outside to be alone in an enclosure and dog house? A dog is a member of your family and is a pack animal. He is miserable and unhappy living this way because he needs to be with his humans You need to do the right thing and Re-HOME this dog as soon as possible. In the meantime, OF COURSE, you should bring him inside. Geez You guys dont have a clue about being a dog owner so you really should not own dogs.
Q:My crawlspace is about 1300sq ft and needs new plastic sheeting and insulation. How much does it cost to have it professionally done? Or should I just do it myself?
Easy job, not very pleasant but easy. DIY!!
