Q:Hi, I have a large bag of aluminium sulfate that I would like to use to turn my hydrangeas blue but there are no instructions on the pack, can anyone tell me how much I need (mixed with water)
I usually sprinkle about 1/4 cup around the base of the plant and water it in. This must be done before flowers appear.
Q:like we have seen a disk of aluminum spinning, and a permanent magnet repell the plate because apparently because of temporary hystersis and because the north or south field causes the same in the aluminum, so why wont a plate of ruby do the same thing? Are not all metals, crystals? Perhaps its just too big and difficult a question for you simple huumans,..eh?
A synthetic ruby may be made of aluminum, but that is not ALL that it is made of. The primary material in all rubies is aluminum oxide. So you need oxygen. It's not like the stuff is hard to find... they probably don't even need to overtly add it when they manufacture rubies. And of course, that creates a world of difference. Ferric oxide (a.k.a. rust) isn't magnetic either, even though iron is very strongly so. Aluminum is NOT naturally magnetic (though I'm sure it can be induced)... but if the parallel holds one might imagine that aluminum oxide would be just as nonmagnetic as ferric oxide, neh? As for metals being crystals... yes, that is so. But keep in mind also that just because all metals are crystals, it doesn't mean that all crystals are metals. Metals are (by definition) malleable, ductile, lustrous, and conductive. None of these things can be said of ALL crystals. Ruby may be a crystal, but it is not even vaguely a metal.
Q:What is the typical electrical resistivity of aluminum coils?
The typical electrical resistivity of aluminum coils is around 2.65 x 10^-8 ohm-meters.
Q:Are aluminum coils suitable for architectural louvers?
Yes, aluminum coils are suitable for architectural louvers due to their lightweight nature, durability, and corrosion resistance. They can be easily shaped and formed into various louver designs, providing both functionality and aesthetic appeal to architectural structures.
Q:I am planning on calling an electrician before we move in. I was just wondering about some ballpark estimates to rewire a home with aluminum wiring (appx. 1900 sq feet).
Several thousand dollars. Copper is near all-time highs right now, and labour is going to run you a lot as well. I would seriously consider buying another house if the aluminum wiring causes you that much concern.
Q:How are aluminum coils used in the production of heat exchangers?
Aluminum coils play a crucial role in the production of heat exchangers. Heat exchangers are devices used to transfer heat between two or more fluids, allowing for efficient heating or cooling in various applications. The use of aluminum coils in heat exchanger production is primarily due to the unique properties of aluminum. Firstly, aluminum is an excellent conductor of heat. It possesses a high thermal conductivity, which means it can efficiently transfer heat from one fluid to another. This property is particularly important in heat exchangers, as it ensures that the heat exchange process is rapid and efficient. Secondly, aluminum is lightweight and has a high strength-to-weight ratio. This makes it an ideal choice for heat exchangers, as it allows for the production of compact and lightweight units that can be easily installed in various systems. The lightweight nature of aluminum coils also reduces the overall weight of the heat exchanger, which can be advantageous in applications where weight is a concern, such as automotive or aerospace industries. Additionally, aluminum coils have excellent corrosion resistance. Aluminum naturally forms a thin oxide layer on its surface, which protects it from corrosion. This resistance to corrosion is vital in heat exchangers, as they often come into contact with different fluids that may be corrosive. The use of aluminum coils ensures the longevity and durability of the heat exchanger, preventing premature failure or damage. Moreover, aluminum coils are highly malleable and can be easily formed into different shapes and sizes. This flexibility in manufacturing allows for the production of customized heat exchangers that can be tailored to specific applications and requirements. The ability to shape aluminum coils also facilitates the design of complex heat exchanger geometries, maximizing the heat transfer surface area and enhancing overall performance. In summary, aluminum coils are extensively used in the production of heat exchangers due to their high thermal conductivity, lightweight nature, corrosion resistance, and malleability. These properties make aluminum an ideal material for efficient heat transfer, compact designs, durability, and customization. Overall, aluminum coils contribute significantly to the effectiveness and reliability of heat exchangers in various industries and applications.
Q:How are aluminum coils protected against oxidation?
Aluminum coils are protected against oxidation through various methods such as applying a protective coating, anodizing the surface, or using a combination of organic and inorganic coatings. These protective measures act as barriers to prevent direct contact between the aluminum coils and oxygen, thereby reducing the risk of oxidation and corrosion.
Q:Are aluminum coils compatible with different welding methods?
Yes, aluminum coils are compatible with different welding methods such as MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding, TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding, and even resistance spot welding. These methods can be used to join aluminum coils effectively and efficiently.
Q:Is there aluminum coil of 44mm wide and 0.40mm thick?
The common width of aluminum coil is 1000mm or 1220mm. If you want 0.4mm*1000MM aluminum coil, you can strip 0.4mm*1000MM aluminum coil.
Q:Are there any specific guidelines for the handling of aluminum coils?
Yes, there are specific guidelines for the handling of aluminum coils. Here are some key points to consider: 1. Proper lifting techniques: When handling aluminum coils, it is important to use appropriate lifting equipment such as cranes or forklifts. These tools should have the capacity to handle the weight of the coils to prevent accidents or damage. 2. Protective gear: Workers should wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves and safety goggles to protect themselves from sharp edges or potential injuries during handling. 3. Secure packaging: Aluminum coils should be stored or transported in secure packaging to prevent damage. This can include using suitable pallets, straps, or protective covers to ensure the coils are held in place and protected from external factors like moisture or impact. 4. Proper stacking: When storing or transporting aluminum coils, it is important to stack them in a way that ensures stability and prevents them from falling or causing accidents. Coils should be stacked evenly and securely, with adequate support and space between each stack to avoid deformation or damage. 5. Avoid contact with corrosive materials: Aluminum coils should not come into contact with corrosive materials such as acids or alkalis, as they can cause damage or corrosion to the metal. It is important to store aluminum coils in a clean and dry environment to preserve their quality. 6. Handling with care: Aluminum coils are susceptible to scratches, dents, and other damage, so they should be handled with care to avoid these issues. Avoid dragging or sliding the coils during handling and ensure that they are placed gently to prevent any potential damage. 7. Training and supervision: Workers involved in the handling of aluminum coils should be adequately trained and supervised to ensure they are following the specific guidelines and safety procedures. Regular training sessions can help refresh their knowledge and reinforce safe handling practices. Following these guidelines will help ensure the proper handling of aluminum coils, reducing the risk of accidents, damage, or loss of quality.
