Q:I was curious, wanted to know. What is the best way to increase my bench press LBS.Besides actually bench pressing. Is there any other exercises i can train in, to give me more results.
Basically by just adding small amounts of weight to your current bench press over time will help increase your bench press, push ups and dumbbells are good, but the slow and steady of increase in weights on your bench will give you the results you are looking for, you know nothing crazy, maybe like 5-10 lbs every week or two depending on your body.

Q:I can military press 100lb dumbbells (one in each hand) with ease. I've worked really hard to get up to this point, but......100lbs dumbbells are the heaviest that my gym has, so I have to move on to the barbell. Since the dumbbells isolate both shoulders, I should technically be able to military press more with the barbell than I should with dumbbells, right? Does starting off at 205 or 215 sound like a good idea? I've only been lifting (seriously) for about 2 years, so I'm still somewhat of a noob.Thanks!
Yeah, you can probably do as much as 245 lbs even In my experience (and this is none scientific at all) but in my experience, when I use barbells instead of dumbells for exercises like that (bench press, overhead press, bent over rows) - the amount of weight I can add to each side is almost identical to the weight of the dumbbells. So by that logic, you could add 100lbs to each side of a barbell, making the weight 245lbs HOWEVER, the form is slightly different, so I would advice to start at an even 200 and focus on perfecting the form. be careful with the changes. Watch your chin (you have to move your neck out of the way) and watch your back - you have to squeeze your glutes so your lower back doesn't arch. Also watch the positioning of your hands on the barbell as its slightly different. A narrower grip will work your shoulders primarily, but hit your triceps quite hard. A wider grip will work your shoulders and your upper chest the most.
Q:How to breathe while doing standing military press?
I am assuming you mean a overhead barbell/dumbbell press. If so, you exhale on the hard part (pushing the weight up), and you inhale on the easy part (lowering the weight). EDIT: Not if you do the valsalva-maneuver. How you blow up a balloon. You forcefully exhale through pinched lips. It’s kind of like holding your breath while exhaling. That way you keep your abdominal area isometrically contracted for spinal support. It is not recommended for those with hypertension. You also have to be careful because if you do it too long, you can pass out -- it restricts (while increasing blood pressure) blood flow to the head (as well as other parts of the body). It can also cause an extreme drop in blood pressure at the end of a really heavy lift involving a long valsalva-maneuver (which can also cause you to pass out). So, I would recommend letting the weight down as quick as possible after a heavy lift involving a long valsalva-maneuver -- especially if you begin to feel light headed. When you press on an LCD panel (liquid crystal display), you are flexing the panel, which distorts the liquid crystals, which in turn changes the way the light from the backlights behaves - the ripple effect on the screen. Don't press hard on an LCD screen - the glass is very thin and breaks easily.
Q:So, I went to my high school's weight room after track practice to try the leg press for the first time today. I am 15 years old, I am a freshman in high school, I am about 5' 7 and weigh 215 pounds. I tried to leg press today and the most I could do was 610 pounds. don't confuse the leg press and squat. the leg press is usually an incline system and the squat is a vertical system. so if you go to do squats don't weigh down the rack. i remember a guy did that back in high school. think he almost killed himself. anyways, is it good? yeah pretty good. if you keep at it you will see that number go up. if your wanting to know why though, best guess i can provide is the fact your legs are used to balancing 215 lbs on any given day with ease. that would be considered a light load to the muscles. being athletic helps too. so you should of been able to do about 220 no problem. as you add weight you muscles will work harder. you made it up to 610. a difference of 390 lbs
Q:I am a little over 21 weeks pregnant and just recently felt the baby move on the outside of my belly pretty good...acutally starting on Friday we could feel the baby kick or move on the outside if I pressed in the area I felt the baby move. I find myself pressing down, not hard, more often trying to feel the baby move...am I doing any harm? I know this sounds like a dumb question but I am worried now because I haven't felt the baby move as much yesterday and into today and I am afraid now that someone is wrong. Help! Is it bad to press on the abdomen to feel the baby move? Can the baby be felt some days and not others at 21 weeks?
I am 20 wks and my husband has been doing the same thing for almost 2 wks. This is the only way that I have felt it. But last Friday I felt it for the first time without him doing it. I haven't heard that this causes any harm.
