- Hello Normally a car is first clamped to stop it being moved, Then it depends what turns up. Some will lift the car onto the back of a small lorry (Normal with Police). And nothing you can do as even if you chained it to a lamp post they have the authority to cut it free. Others use a small lorry with a slopping rear to pull the car onto it, You could try putting your own clamp or chaining it to lamp post. that would only slow them down if it is a legal Tow as they would just call the Police Others use a thing called a Dolly it is like a trailer but only for the front wheels but as above. And if they have to get a lifting vehicle they will charge you for that as well. Lifting is preferred as it does not require the Hand Brake to be released or damaged Andy C

- if it is a true old vw bug, it should have a torsion bar type suspension front and rear. locate the adjuster nuts and go from there. as for the wheel stand, that would require some work.

- Q:I have a 1999 toyota corolla 4 cylinder automatic. I bought this last year, and didn‘t have any back problems. Now I have severe back problems, and pain. Getting in and out of it is killing me! I really like my car, and I have invested a lot of money into it, and would prefer not to sell it. My dad has a 1990 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 pickup truck ( 3/4 pickup truck ) and getting in and out of it is a lot easier for me. I can‘t drive it all the time due to the price of gas. My Dad also has a 2002 Nissan Maxima, and it is a few inches higher, but doesn‘t help my problem. Is it possible to lift my car up about 12 inches or so?Around How much would parts cost? How much would labor cost?What is the most you could lift this? Is there anything else that I could do to help me with this problem? - Sorry Nick, but, I have never herd of a Lift Kit, for a 99 Toyota ! Other ways that people do that is use larger Tires, or put spacers in their Springs, You might get an inch or two from Larger Tires, and putting Spacers in the springs, will really stiffen up the ride, which may be hard on you. My best offer is, get a good Lumbar Cushion to slip behind you, that has helped me feel a little better.
- Q:I have a 2003 crown vic (it was a police car at one point) and recently when i accelerate, usually between about 20-30mph, there is this metallic rattling sound under the car. The last time it did that, I got the oil changed (about 4 weeks ago) and the sound went away. However yesterday it started back up again. - Tell me about it! It's bad for your health. A little bit of hard work won't kill you, but tons and tons of constant work will kill you. The Chinese have a word that means literally being worked to death I work in a meat processing plant. Years ago the owners wanted me to be their only employee! I was lifting 10,000lbs per hour. I looked like I lived in a concentration camp. Too tired to eat and too sore to sleep. I finally quit when I get an offer to buy a lawn-care business. .I ended up going back to the meat plant to work in the winter time, but now there's another guy there, and they decided that they're not going to work us nearly to death EVERY day.

I know the link needs to be longer so it fits the lift.I also found what‘s called a dropdown pitman arm, for cars with lifts from 2-6 inches. Is this also what I need?And then as far as control arms, would adjustable control arms do the trick?If you could help me out that would be great! I‘m not too experienced with this. - Sounds like you are on the right track just always make sure of the length before purchase. One thing about the sway bars if you are going to buy new, then spend the few extra pennies to get sway bar disconnects they save you alot of head ache on the trail. If you don't offroad then just get what fits. Key thing to remember is that whatever name brand the lift is ie: superlift, fabtech, budget boost, all of these companies will sell replacement parts on their website and also they will have a diagram of the complete lift kit so you can see what is missing.
