Q:I live in US and this summer i will be traveling through UK, France, Switzerland, Italy, Germany and NetherlandsI am looking for a LIGHTWEIGHT sleeping bag or even a thin quot;mattressquot; (sheet) that wont take up lots of space in my suitcaseI wont be sleeping outside, only in hostels and camp houses where blankets and pillows are provided (although I a taking my small pillow)Any suggestions? THANK YOU
I think you 'should' take a sheet sleeping bagThis is a sleeping bag made out of bed sheet, you can make it yourself, but you can also buy them in camp gear and out door activity shops (like Rei in the USA.) They come in cotton, silk and man-made fibers, the difference is mostly size of the packed thing as well as priceI have always found the cotton ones small enough to packIf you also stay in hostels or camp houses that do not provide blankets, you will need a sleeping bag, a summer weight one will do, you find them in the same kind of shops but also many supermarketsMostly when they do supply blankets or duvets they do not want you to use your own down (or synthetic filled) sleeping bagI have taken the thin 'isolating' beach mats for sleeping on a mattress where I was not sure of its cleanliness, and in emergencies you can also sleep on it on the groundThey mostly pack away as small as the ones the camp shops sell but are much cheaper, just chuck it out before flying home and use the space for souvenirs.
Q:there's so much! yarn, paint, frames, models, fabric, home decor.whatever else you'd find in a hobby store
The best part about NYC is the public transportation system, you can live anywhere in the city and have access to the trains and buses which will take you all over the 5 boroughsThere are relatively cheap places, you can look into the Bronx, where there will be more options to choose fromNYC is no longer what it was 15 or 20 years ago, it has long since been removed from the most dangerous cities in the US, and it is a safe place to liveThe most expensive of places are those in midtowm manhattan, areas around the park, and areas around the financial district (excluding chinatown which is dirt cheap, but I wouldnt recommend itLook at living on the Grand Concourse or Broadway in the bronx, also look at the higher streets in manhattanThere are scores of projects around, but there are plenty of other places that are affordable that arent public housingLook around, get an apartment guideBest of luckYou can live in a crappy place, but step foot outside and you have the world at your feet.
Q:Would it make sense to replace/abandon it by running a new pipe up through the attic? Assuming the under-slab pipe runs halfway the length of the house, and the attic is presently only for electrical wiring and unrolled insulation, with no floor. Is it a common job, thousands of plumbers have done? Or is it only done for nut cases like me?
If you want to lose weight, you'll have to eat way lessThat's not to say that you aren't getting resultMuscle weighs more than fat, so you may not lose weight, because you are gaining muscle! Beans chicken and eggs for breakfast, lunch and dinner, is probably adding up to way to many caloriesYou need to calculate your BMR Women: BMR 655 + ( 4.35 x weight in pounds ) + ( 4.7 x height in inches ) - ( 4.7 x age in years ) Men: MR 66 + ( 6.23 x weight in pounds ) + ( 12.7 x height in inches ) - ( 6.8 x age in year )Your BMR is the amount of energy you will burn if you are literally stuck in bed all day, and don't do anythingyou basic calorie intake to live and functionFrom this you can calculate you daily calorie intake, to maintain, gainthis should be the amount of calories you should be eating everyday, since you are working out, it will be lower than you necessary intake to maintain you current weight with the active lifestyle, you have now.

Q:I've finally decided I need to make the transition from natural to straight hair (I wear my hair in braids all the time)As such, I think that since I work out a lot, I need to straighten it with a relaxerHowever, I was wondering if using a relaxer and a high quality flat-iron like the Solia would be too damaging to my hair (I only plan to use the flat iron 2x a week at most)If I wash my hair weekly, would that be bad, too? Help a sister out, please! :)

Q:i need a list of healthy sweeteners w/out sugar and high fiber foodsseperate or together in the same food.
fiber onehas 54% of your daily fiber (per HALF cup) and o G sugar, 3G protein, and 100 caloriesits superbut its sweetened with sucralosewhich is splendapersonally id rather stick with sugar, like all bran (original) has 7G sugar, 48% fiber, 5 G protein and 90 calories i think all bran taste better too:) EDIT: also beans are LOADED with fiber, so get thoes, fruits have fiber but they have sugar and most veggies are low in sugar (except peppers and carrots).
Q:I have a 100+ year old Victorian house, plaster and lathe - balloon framed. We would like to insulate without riping out all the walls, Hoping to fire retard the balloon framing also. We're in the Pacific Northwest - so it's wet.I have been led to believe that cellulose might wick moisture and settle within a few years, wheras expanding foam will fill and stay.Fire block is as important (if not more so) to me than R value.any comments, thoughts or caveats would be appreciatede - thanks
both sort ofMOST knitting and crocheting is done with yarn, but you can also crochet or knit with mercerized cotton, which is sometimes called crochet thread (this is what doilies are made from)You can even crochet with embroidery floss or sewing thread, provided you have a small enough hookTo me, the difference between yarn and thread is density, yarn is a lot looser and fluffier and larger than thread.
Q:I knitted a Baby Afghan which required using 2 strands of yarn and it turned out great I then went back and made another one using only 1 strand which has made it alot thinnerI am ready to bind off now but need to know, since I have used only 1 strand on this one, if I should bind off '' all the way around '' the Baby Afghan since it is so much lighter, before I block it ? The first one using the 2 strands didn't need it, but just looking at this laying out it looks like it might look better if I bind it off '' all the way around '' before blocking it Any help will be greatly appreciated Have A Great Day All :-) .
Do you have live stitches all the way around? IOW was it knit in the round, even if it's square? If so, yes, you have to bind off all the way around or your afghan won't last too longHowever, if you have only one edge with live stitches casting off that edge alone should be fineKeep in mind that binding off all around may make it difficult to block the afghan because the usual bind off limits the amount of stretch to the fabricYou may want to bind off, in either case, by k 2, pass 1 over, move the knitted stitch remaining back to the left needle, and repeat this across which allows more stretch to that edgeEnd your last stitch by pulling the tail straight up out of the last stitch and then weave it in so there isn't any little ear left over.
