Q:I just got this aftermarket exhaust on my truck and it's recommended that it be welded, but the metal is aluminized steel. How do I mig weld aluminized steel?
Yes. Buy a bimetallic strip where one edge is aluminum and the other is steel. A bimetallic strip is a special metal strip where an aluminum strip is fused to a steel strip by high frequency welding. You can form the strip to the shape of the table legs' cross section then weld the steel edge to the leg and the aluminum edge to the table top. Ensure however that the aluminum table top is a weldable alloy and compatible with the bimetallic strip.( You can not weld Al. Alloy 6061T6 so look for Al.Alloy 5086H32 or 5456H321 or the lower Al. Alloy designations, but they have to be strain hardened and not thermally hardened).
Q:What are the different types of steel coil surface treatment options?
There are several different types of steel coil surface treatment options available, each serving a specific purpose and providing various benefits. Some of the common surface treatment options include: 1. Hot-dip galvanizing: This process involves immersing the steel coil in a bath of molten zinc, which forms a protective zinc coating on the surface. Galvanizing provides excellent corrosion resistance and helps in extending the lifespan of the steel coil. 2. Electro-galvanizing: Similar to hot-dip galvanizing, but instead of immersing the coil in molten zinc, an electric current is used to deposit a thin layer of zinc onto the steel surface. Electro-galvanizing provides a smoother and thinner zinc coating, making it suitable for applications that require a more aesthetic finish. 3. Pre-painted or coated: Steel coils can be coated with a layer of paint or other protective coatings before they are formed into various products. This type of treatment provides additional protection against corrosion and enhances the aesthetic appearance of the steel coil. 4. Organic coating: Organic coatings are typically applied to steel coils to provide protection against corrosion and improve the overall durability of the product. These coatings can be in the form of epoxy, polyurethane, or other types of polymer-based materials. 5. Pickling: Pickling is a surface treatment process that involves removing impurities and scale from the steel coil by immersing it in an acid solution. This treatment helps in improving the adhesion of subsequent coatings and prepares the surface for further processing or finishing. 6. Oil coating: Steel coils can be coated with a thin layer of oil to protect the surface from oxidation and rust during storage or transportation. This coating is typically used as a temporary measure and is usually removed before further processing. 7. Shot blasting: Shot blasting involves propelling small metal particles at high velocity onto the steel coil surface. This process helps in removing rust, scale, and other contaminants, providing a clean and roughened surface for better adhesion of subsequent coatings. These are some of the commonly used steel coil surface treatment options. The choice of treatment depends on the specific requirements of the application, such as corrosion resistance, aesthetic appearance, or improved adhesion.
Q:The highest quality i have seen is 9260 and i want to know if there is a higher quality steel.
Types of steel are one issue. But the quality of steel no matter what type is even more important. The only way to be sure that you are getting a good blade is to buy from someone that already has a reputation for producing great blades. Stop the questions about who thinks what type of steel is best and investigate the steel blades offered by companies like Bugei Trading company. they have good blades. Opinions vary, but Bugei has proven that they make good swords. That is all that is needed to be known. Any questions you have are best directed to them, not here.
Q:Where do I need hot galvanized steel coils and color coated rolls?
The use of galvanized steel for color coated steel substrates, except zinc protection, organic coating on the zinc layer up covering the isolation effect, can prevent rusting steel, galvanized steel service life is longer, the coating steel plate galvanized steel long service life is 50%. However, the service life of the color coated plate with the same amount of zinc coating, the same coating and the same coating thickness will vary greatly in different regions and different parts.
Q:So finally got around to watching man of steelnow i heard a few times that batman was in iti didn't se him.in the film is it something subtle I've just missed or is he not in it?when i googled it got loads of results for them being together in the new film but nothing about man of steel 2013
No, however he will make an appearance in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice out next year.
Q:I need to construct a table with three columns, which states the name of the steel, its compositions (e.g. Fe and C), and its special properties for a variety of different steel products.Help me please, a site with info would be great, explanations would be even better.
Steel is an alloy consisting mostly of iron, with a carbon content between 0.2% and 2.1% by weight, depending on the grade. Carbon is the most common alloying material for iron, but various other alloying elements are used, such as manganese, chromium, vanadium, and tungsten.[1] Carbon and other elements act as a hardening agent, preventing dislocations in the iron atom crystal lattice from sliding past one another. Varying the amount of alloying elements and form of their presence in the steel (solute elements, precipitated phase) controls qualities such as the hardness, ductility, and tensile strength of the resulting steel. Steel with increased carbon content can be made harder and stronger than iron, but is also less ductile. H.
Q:The guy at this one pawn shop told me that stainless steel is better because it is just as strong and will not rust. The guy at the other pawn shop said that you need high carbon steel for a good sword because stainless steel breaks easily and that damascis is the best kind of steel for swords.
The decorative swords you buy are actually blunt. my brother bought a set and they were blunt. Also some of the swords you buy in the shops like the previous person said are for decorative use only. A real Samurai sword cost a lot more than 30 dollars. The program I saw on TV was about these swords and they said that they cost about 1000 dollars or more for the real thing. 30 dollars is very cheap for a sword also the machete is a wider blade compared to the samurai which is why it's probably stronger.
Q:Can steel coils be coated with anti-static materials?
Yes, steel coils can be coated with anti-static materials to help reduce or eliminate static electricity buildup and discharge. Anti-static coatings are commonly applied to various surfaces, including metals, to prevent damage to sensitive electronic components, improve safety, and enhance overall product performance.
Q:Can steel coils be customized in terms of size and shape?
Yes, steel coils can be customized in terms of size and shape.
Q:What are the different methods of leveling steel coils?
There are several methods used to level steel coils, including roller leveling, stretcher leveling, and tension leveling. Roller leveling involves passing the coil through a series of rollers that gradually bend and flatten the steel to remove any curvature or unevenness. Stretcher leveling uses hydraulic or mechanical forces to stretch the steel in order to eliminate any residual stress and improve flatness. Tension leveling applies tension to the steel coil while it is being passed through a series of rolls, which helps to remove any waviness or shape defects. These methods are employed depending on the specific requirements and desired flatness of the steel coils.
