- Q:im upgrading amps from 200 to 1000 and i was wondering if the cables will restrict the current at all? right now i have a 225 watt cord set
- The first consideration is how much power can your speakers handle without self destructing? My opinion is that few can productively handle more than a couple of hundred, and that would be for very brief peaks. The average listening level in a domestic situation is on the order of a few watts - 10 or less. If you really have speakers that can handle that amount of power, and you want to deliver it efficiently, then you need to keep the 2-way resistance of the wires from the amps to the speakers at less than 10% of the speaker impedance. So for 4 ohm speakers (worst case) you want the line resistance to be below 0.4 ohms. For a 50 ft (100 ft 2-way) cable run, that suggests 16 AWG minimum wire gauge for each speaker. Your existing RCA cables should be OK assuming they only carry low level signals. If your present power service and grounding are on a 15 or 20 Amp branch circuit (US) , and no other heavy appliance loads (refrigerator, washer, airconditioner) are on that branch, then it is OK for the new amps.
- Q:in the specs it says the power supply doesn't have a pci-e connector?Does that mean i cant use the video card, or is there a way I dont know? Please help.Thank you very much
- Okay, right off the bat I see a problem with that power supply. Aside from not having a pci-e connection it states it doesn't work with SLI or Crossfire (i.e. Nvidia or ATI). Since you're wanting to get a GeForce card, which works with a mobo with an Nvidia chipset, you'd need a more up-to-date power supply. Second - that card uses 18 amps on the 12-volt rail, and according to the specs on that power supply it runs up to 16 or 17 amps, so the power supply you're looking at isn't powerful enough to support the card. My advice - first make sure your mobo has an Nvidia Chipset. Second, spend a bit more and get a better power supply, and check the voltage - you need at least 18 amps on the 12-volt for that card.
- Q:I just bought an electric guitar and an Ibanez Ibz10g 10 watt amplifier. I read the reviews for the amp and someone said it only comes with the power cable.1. Is this true?2. If so will I be able to play with just a power cable or do I have to buy other cables separately? This is probably a stupid question but I seriously have no idea what cables are required for electric guitar. I ordered it from OKorder yesterday and couldn't find any details about what it comes with.
- I realize that your just starting out, But the worse mistake you made was buying a guitar on line, OK here is the truth, Once you get the guitar you are going to HAVE to take it in to a shop and have it setup So it will play,Action has to be set. will have to be tuned the first time, this is going to be about sixty bucks, Plus you are going to have to buy a instrument cable, Which is also at a music shop,A decent cord, is going to be 20 bucks,I have been playign38 years , have and still play on stage about every other wknd.Have went through alot of gear over the years.Twice i bought on line.both times I was screwed.Never buy before you play,Never, never. But putting that aside, Welcome aboard, always nice to hear someone else wanting to learn.all the Guys below gave you great advice, I,m just telling you the truth.Since your just beginning you will have no idea about setup. But You tube has a excellent area for beginning players, From how to tune your guitar to Learning Chords, to actually teaching how to play songs, If you have any other needed advice, there are a lot of good people on here that will give you the links to access , About anything you will ever need to play and learn.
- Q:Hi, I have a router connected to the internet, but one of the computer is 80 feets away from the router and it can not get 100MBps. I have force the computer to use 10MBps. Could someone please let me know what will impact the speed of cat5 cabling?
- Power cables cause interference as well as distance and twists in the wire. I assume you have a cable that you made. Did you try a pre-made cable at a shorter distance to see if the ethernet card will do 100mb at all? If it works with the premade, you might have not wired the 80' cable correctly. Make sure you have the pairs crimped correctly in the connector. Pins 1 and 2 are a pair. Pins 3 and 6 are a pair. Pins 4 and 5 and 7 and 8 are paired as well. Example: Orange/white = pin 1 Orange=pin 2 Green/white=pin 3 Green = pin 6 Blue = pin 4 Blue/White = pin 5 Brown/white = pin 7 Brown = pin 8 I hope this helps.
- Q:I just bought a new video card and it requires a power supply and i have the cables but im lost on where to put them.
- You use an open power plug from the power supply. If there isn't an extra one, you need a splitter.
- Q:My mother has moved to Australia, taking her Fujitsu Siemens (Amilo model) laptop with her. Very shortly after, her power cable stopped functioning, and she would like a new one. Unfortunately, she is not tech-savvy at all and doesn't seem to be able to find the thing online, and I being from Europe, have trouble searching in her stead. I don't even know what an Australian plug looks like and I have no clue regarding the currency...All and any help is much appreciated.
- This okorder Although that's some store from U.S, maybe you can try search it from OKorder or OKorder. Wish the Best
- Q:I was playing Call of Duty Black ops when i looked down at my mess of cables. I have a lamp the also plugs into the same power outlet. When i looked down my lamp(that i leave on 10 out of 24 hours of the day) had this white stuff on it. I didn't think too much of it at that time but i looked at it again later and i was nervous that it could be dangerous. Anyone have any idea's as to what it could and if it is dangerous? Will it continue to spread? I don't want my ps3 to be destroyed. I looked on the internet and it sounds like Battery post corrosion. Not sure though. Thank you very much.
- If you have batteries, then it could be these leaking acid, and in time, these will erode your equipment, any other corrosion,I would take as a sign to replace your equipment
- Q:HiIm planning to buy a Antec Nine Hundered, how long would my power supply unit cables need to be to run my motherboard (Intel Tappen D945GTP) thanks
- pretty much all cables on a psu is long enough to reach any mobo in any case (assuming its the correct form factor)
- Q:I have a desktop PC that when turned on the fans works but it won't beep or display anything on screen. But after I unplug both motherboard power connectors and plug them back in, the PC stats working normally, why is that? Oh, and I tried disconnecting only the external power cable, no luck.
- nicely it relies upon, feels like a heating concern... Your power furnish ought to have a fan on it, seem and hear be sure that is going, using fact it sounds like it is no longer, if thats the case you will the two ought to do some extremely tedius artwork removing the ability furnish and replaceing the fan, or purchase a sparkling one... yet once you particular the psu you examined it with works and the pc nevertheless didnt boot, nicely then it must be greater, be sure all followers and what no longer come on and attempt it
- Q:I just bought a new motherboard and it had a 24 pin power thingy, my power supply was only a 20 pin. After looking at my manual it said I was able to do that if I aligned them a specific way. After that PC turns on, the lights turn on, hard drives turn on, and everything else. the thing is the screen stays black and says no signal.I was looking on the motherboard and there is a 4 pin ATX12V1, but there is no such cable that comes out of my power supply. I think the reason the screen stays blank is because it said that was used to power the CPU. What can I do since I do not have a ATX12V1 cable that connects to my motherboard? The only cables that come out of my pwr supply are for the IDE and floppy.
