- Q:I noticed many of our server cables are thicker than the standard ones for a desktop PC. Would any power cable work, regardless of gauge? I want to use shorter server power cables for cable management purposes, since some of our server cables are over 10-15 ft. in length and only need 3 ft. or so.
- You could shorten the cables, but you shouldn't use a smaller gauge. The gauge of the power wire is sized appropriate to the power supply of the server. If you use a wire that is to small a gauge you could create a fire hazard.
- Q:lost my original 7A cable and the uk wire is 2.5A
- The PS3 Slim's power supply is rated at 250W which works out to be just under 2.5A @ 110v. Since the PS3 only draws around 100W it should be OK. If you were using an Older PS3 then it would require more power and would not be safe with a 2.5A cable. Since a new cable wouldn't cost much you should probably invest in a better one anyway.
- Q:I ordered this recently only to find that it was just the HDD, no cords whatsoever. I've never had to buy cables for an HDD before, and I'm especially not used to SATA (I didn't make the jump from IDE to SATA until this year.)
- it is a sata and takes the Standard power connector on the back like the regular drive and the the rest the other guy covered you can tell the difference it's not a ribbon cable looks like romex almost and the ends are polarized one end looks like this L____ and this end is reversed the cable can't be plugged in wrong just like IDE hard drives.

- Q:I'm gonna be running a 2,700watts RMS system on a Power Acoustik 4,500watt Class D Monoblock amp at 1-ohm. I have a 2005 Impala LS do I'm going to need a secondary battery. What size should it be? Also what size power wire and ground wire should I use? I'm going to be using 8gauge speaker wire. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

- Q:My friend gave me a PS2 as a gift of Friendship but it was missing a cable. And that cable was the power cable. He told me I can use a power cable that some radios use, and it will be the same. Although I have doubts. I think I have like 2 radios out back so I'm wondering if they actually DO work. I'm going to attempt this tomorrow so I need a answer ASAP and please don't make it a simple answer, include some detail if possible. Like what exactly is the Power Cable I need so I can take a look at the Radio's power cable to see if its the right one. I'm unfamiliar with the Power Cable actually because I haven't seen a PS2 in almost 4 years since I got my PS3.
- Using a power cable with the same head will definitely work with the PS2 but keep in mind that the quality of the original cable versus the makeshift one may have an effect to the PS2. For example, there is a small possibility that you might cause the power to short circuit (not sure if this is the term I should be using but...) I'd imagine something like sparks or smoke emitting from the power socket or the PS2.
- Q:I left my power cable at my cabin, which is a few hours away. I don't want to replace the cable (I'll be going back anyway in a few days), but I need to use my laptop. So far I've tried an old laptop cable, but its to big, and a game system adapter, but it doesn't have enough power. Are there any solutions that don't involve me buying a new cable?
- Do NOT play guessing games with this. If you use one of a higher rating or worse with reverse polarity input you will totally destroy the laptop.
- Q:So I have some speakers that are for a PC. I just got a new laptop and I want to use the speakers, which I can with 100% ease but I want it to be portable, meaning I don't want to have to plug in my speakers to a wall outlet, i would like to hook it up with a USB. Is there way I can make a USB power cord so i can power the speakers from my laptop? I have a 12V DC 0.5A wall adapter and a usb to cut in half or whatever to make this thing work, i also have a soldering kit. Is this possible? Thansk for any help and Merry Christmas ;)
- Astra is right. Your USB port will never be able to supply enough power to the speakers.

- It's a universal AC power cord. The same one you would use for most other flat panels, desktop pcs, and the PS3. Go to your local Best Buy. They have them in 2 places: Playstation 3 accessories or the PC cable isle in Computers. $10 give or take a couple bucks.
- Q:You have not connected the power cable to your video card. Please refer to the 'C settings started guide' for proper hardware installation.
- What graphics card do you have? Most modern GPUs require external power (i.e. they can not draw enough from the PCI Express slot itself). You should have some spare Molex connectors (usually 6 pins, 3x2) from your PSU to connect to the GPU. The connection procedure should be covered in the user manual!
