Q:Do cranes play major role in Japanese culture? How so? Do cranes live in Japan?
yea, i think there was this japanese girl, and she was exposed to radiation from that bomb in Hiroshima (i think) so she ended up being diagnosed with cancer and yea, she believed that if she folded enough paper cranes (coz cranes apparently live to very old, so if she could fold 1000 of them, she would live longer), she would get better... so she kept folding them until she died.. TT___TT such a sad story... So now the crane represents peace! yea.. thats all i remember... ^^
Q:What is a typical hourly wage, and what kind/how much training is required? Is there a special certificate that you have to get, sort of like a driver's or pilot's license? Does it vary much depending on what type of crane (track crane vs. tower crane)?
In Sydney Australia a tower crane operator makes a little over $2000 a week after tax on average. Pay is about $40 to $50ph, alot of allowances + penalty rates. Expect to work big hours for the money though. To become an operator go to your local union office, they might point you in the right direction for your region.
Q:how do they get cranes on top of building sites?
It's crazy but they actually use the crane to build itself!!!
Q:how do you make an electromagnet crane?
Well I guess you would need a big electromagnet, a large power source and a crane. You would need to wind a huge coil around an iron bar, feed it with lots of direct current and stick it on a crane.
Q:carribean crane jobs?
As okorder / When completed Trinidad will have the largest Conference Centre in the Caribbean. This is just the latest of new tall buildings the Government of TT is building in Port of Spain.
Q:Tower crane 10-5-20 is 6T, and 10-5-21 is 8T. What do you mean by tons?
6T/8T refers to the maximum lifting capacity of a tower crane. It doesn't matter what 10-5-20 has to do with it. Maybe your list of numbers is serial number.
Q:Is there a crane big enough to lift Hillary off the yoga matt when she has finished her yoga?
You wouldn't need a crane, all you'd need is a hershey's bar and she'd wattle off the yoga mat. Or, you can present her with facts about the destruction of her e-mail server, the fact that she allowed innocent people in Iraq and Syria to die, or the fact that she hit the reset button with Russia, and she'll RUN AWAY from the yoga mat.
Q:I am looking for what the breeding season is for sandhill cranes?
Mid-April to mid-June is breeding season for Florida Sandhill cranes lasts from December-June. For most other cranes, like those here in the midwestern U.S., the breeding season is March and April. I'm fortunate enough to live not too far from the Jasper Pulaski Fish and Wildlife Area where the Sandhill Cranes migrate every spring and fall. I always go to see this spectacular event.
Q:I need to know exactly how much weight they can lift also how much do they weight?how long is thier life-time?in what temprature they can work?does mosture do any harm to them?for installation , do they need foundation?the exact height and width?
You need to be more specific. The lifting capacities for container cranes varies significantly, as does any other crane. Some of the variation is based purely on load (horsepower) availability; some is based on speed (rpm) for lift/drop portions of the cycle. Cranes like these operate year-round, at ports all over the world. Some ports have average ambient temperatures in the range of 45 C, with highs up to 60 C. Others can be as low an average as 10 C, with a low peak as much as -50 C. Moisture will, over the long haul, harm them - they're metal constructs, and thus are prone to oxidation. Using corrosion-resistant materials and/or coatings will certainly prolong their usable lifespan. The crane drives (electric motors and power electronics) are also susceptible to moisture and other contaminants. All true dockside cranes require some sort of permanent foundation; it's usually part of the pier construction itself. However, there are portable cranes that operate without one. There is also more than one crane manufacturer out there - all will have their trade secrets that will make each look a little different than the rest. It will generally also reflect in their operation parameters, and in their expected life cycle.
Q:How are those really tall construction cranes assembled ???
I assume you are talking about a tower crane. From a distance, it looks like a T with one side shorter than the other. First, you need a good foundation for the crane to sit on. Next, you have a large mobile crane. With the mobile crane, you construct the tower (metal framing going up), the cab (where the operator sits and the motors), the boom (the mast out front) and the counter-weights (on the side opposite the boom). For the most part, this will get you a tower crane that will be about 200 feet above the ground. Most tower cranes today are self-jumping. Once you are ready to jump the tower crame (i.e. insert another section of the metal frame) there are hyraulics that lift the boom, cap and counterwieghts. This will create a gap in the metal frame. The tower crane will then pick up a section of frame and hoist it up and the ironworkers will slide it into place. The top section will be lowered down onto the new frame piece. The hydraulic jacks then get re-attached higher up to continue the jumping process. That is how you get a crane to build a 50+ soty building. By the way, once the crane is about 700 feet in the air, (if you have the stomach for it), it is a blast to ride out to the end of the boom.
