Q:What is an attached tower crane?

Q:We see lots of cranes doing some heavy lifting during construction. But how do they get so high up these buildings? And when construction is nearly done, how do they go back down?

Those type of cranes have a support system that is continuously built as the building gets taller. The crane climbs up on the support system to reach the next level and climbs down to get down

You can eat just about anything... Whether or not they taste good, I don't know. But I would skip hunting them, just because I would rather not risk killing a whooping crane and spending a year in jail and paying a $100,000 fine. And that guy who wants to shoot them at 200 yards- he's going to find a new boyfriend very soon after he's convicted. EDIT: @Jack, did you know that there are a few bird species in Asia and Australia which have toxic skin and feathers? They eat enough toxic insects that they basically sweat the toxin. It's an interesting defense mechanism. You can still eat them, if you know how to properly skin them.

The crane isn't growing. The cranes lift themselves up to the current top floor, build up around them, and repeat as necessary until they reach the top. The tallest cranes in the world are nowhere near as tall as the tallest skyscrapers - so the only mechanism to build very tall structures is to keep the cranes at the top of the building as it rises.

Q:Which one is a better investment? I can get both for 200dollars

Probably an engine crane (engine hoist). Engine support you still need to lift the engine for the engine support. You hardly ever need to maneuver the engine to do a timing belt. Edit: I have one of the portable lifts what some refer to as a cherry picker. I've never had the need for an engine support.

A bridge crane is one that looks like a bridge (sorry I am tired). It sits on two railway tracks. One at either side of say a building. The tracks are at a fair height. The crane bridge spans between the tracks. Long travel is when the crane moves along the tracks. Cross travel is when the 'crab' moves sideways along the bridge. The crab has the hoist on it with a drum and cable type arrangenment. The lifting gear or hook is attached to the cable. They are very useful in factories for transporting large parts from one process to another. They transport pretty well anywhere in a well designed building in that Long Travel can be X cross travel can be Y and hoist up and down can be Z.

What sort of crane? If it is an industrial crane in a factory, the maximum rating for the crane is always lower than the true maximum to allow for a safety cushion. If the crane states it cane lift say 1 ton, it can safely lift 2000lbs. It will lift up to 2300 lbs if needed though.
