Q:So, recently i purchased a new graphic card and it requires two 6 Pin PCI Express Power Cables. My current power supply generates 650W and only has 1 six pin PCI express power cable. Im at a loss to what to do now. Do i purchase a new power supply that has more pci express cables? Or do i open it up and add a new cable? Thanks if you can take the time to answer my question.
You're going to want to buy a new power supply that can handle it. To require two cables, this card sounds like a behemoth and you're likely going to want a bigger supply anyway. Adding a 6-pin cable isn't really a thing. I'd recommend Corsair for any supply as they're high quality and cheap.
Q:Some said that living near the power cable line might cause cancer because of the radiation from this powerline. Please help me decide. Thanks.
I did not buy a house because it was next to a power unit that powered the neighborhood. My brother in law is an electrician and he did not think it mattered, but I did not take any chances. I bet it would be hard for you to sell the unit in the future because they will not move those cables. I would avoid it.
Q:This is a very small system, just a tape deck, cd player, mp3 input, and a phono pre. This is then run from the L and R outputs from the mixer into a 2 channel EQ, then to a power amp (2x250 @ 2ohm), and from there to 2 vintage kustom speakers.Should I be using TRs or TS cables for all of these connections?FYI the speakers are about 25ft from the power amp on the opposite side of the room
TRS cables are used for two channels, either to patch stereo signals from one component to another, or for send and return in an effects loop. TS cables are used for single-channel patching, and would typically be used between a mixer and a power amplifier. Speaker cables are different from signal cables, even though they often use the same plugs. Speaker cables should be made of 18AWG or larger 2-conductor wire, whereas signal cables shoud be made of shielded (screened) wire. Be certain to use the correct type of cable for the type of signal being conveyed. You may want to get some local help for this. Someone near you should be able to assist.
Q:Hi all, I'm moving into a new apartment August 1, and I'm wondering how far in advance I need to call the power company, cable company, etc to set up service. I know this is probably a dumb question, but throughout college I moved into apartments where at least one of the other roommates was staying (I took over someone's lease who was moving out, but the other girls stayed so I was the only new resident). But I'm moving into a one bedroom, and I've never had to set these things up before so I just thought I'd ask what the standard time frame is. Is a month enough advance notice--should I start setting this stuff up in early July? Or sooner? Again, I know this is probably dumb but I have no experience so I wanted to ask some people who've been there and done that what the procedure is. Thanks in advance!
Do it the end of this month or even now since you will have to open accounts and need to file the proper paperwork and put up cash deposits ranging from 200 to 500.
Q:Cable 3 (4 × 185 + 1 × 95) What does it mean?
The same is 1080P resolution, the computer with the TV is not full screen, it is possible that the frequency of computer graphics output and TV default frequency is different (the national standard is PAL50 Hz), so as long as the graphics output frequency into 50 Hz will be full screen. Win7 mouse right click, select the resolution, the remaining steps see below:
Q:I have recently decided to scrap my capacitor and need and extra two feet of power cable in order for it to reach the amp....is it possible to splice and join two power cables together or is it a better idea to rewire with a longer cord?
The only way to properly splice the cable is to solder the cable to another piece of cable the same size. The best insulator is brush on tape , just make sure whatever you choose to use, it is sufficiently wrapped. There should minimal power loss if care is taken to make the connection well. However, the best way would be to run a new cable. But considering the trouble this may pose, a quality spice may be the best choice.
Q:I dont understand what it says about Peak and sustained power, also the cable says it needs 12v DC, and the power supply gives 650 watts. I don't understand any of this, can someone please explain this to me, and if this power supply doesn't work, please give me examples of ones that will work. Longest answer will get best answer. Thanks!
That Xbox power supply cable is pretty cool! I've never seen those before. Ok, as for the power supply questions: Peak power is the maximum amount of power the unit can supply for a short period of time (a few seconds at most). A computer, during start-up, will use quite a bit more power than once it has achieved steady state. This is because drives have to spin up, semiconductors have to power up, etc. Once everything is up and running, the power draw drops to nominal or steady-state Sustained power is the amount of power the unit can supply non-stop. When purchasing a power supply, always give yourself leeway. If a supply indicates it is 650 watts sustained and 80% efficient (gotta look at that efficiency!) then it can supply 520 watts of power continuously. Even at that, I wouldn't want to run it past 450 - 475 watts continuously. 12v DC is the high rail on a power supply. Different parts of the computer require different voltages to operate. Drive motors typically need the 12v DC, where as memory needs less than 3 volts. A computer power supply has different rails or supply wires which supply the following voltages: +12 volts DC, +5 volts DC, and +3 volts DC (there are some others but those are the key ones). I don't know what the power requirements are for an Xbox 360, but it obviously needs the 12 volt and 5 volt DC rails to power it. Anyway, the power supply you've listed above is more than adequate.
Q:Hey guys, I noticed that with heavy use of the power cord to my laptop, a part of the rubber surrounding the cord is open near the insertion part and you can see the wires. I'm just curious how dangerous it is. I don't have another power cord for my laptop, so do any of you have a recommendation for what I can do?
The outer layer of laptop power cables below the rubber is the insulating layer. Little risk there. If you want, you can purchase electrical tape from HomeDepot or local electronics store{(probably), and wrap it around the rip.
Q:i purchased an SATA to IDE or IDE to SATA bidirectional adapter, the problem i have is my PC is SATA and has no IDE power cables for the drive. am i missing something here ? the seller tells me that they have had no issues before. i cannot find a IDE power cable to power the drive anywhere in the PCPC is intel vpro5 1gb ram SATA systemim trying to connect my IDE HDD.thanks
I found something that looks like what you want on OKorder - use the following search string sata ide power
Q:I have a feeling my power quot;brickis faulty and need to find a replacement, hopwever, none of the high street retailers quot;Game, Gamestation, HMV, Argosseem to stock them.
u can contact microsoft talk to them on teh phone for 5-10mins and theyll giv u a free one
