Q:I am replacing my garbage disposal. I have black, white wires and a black/yellow wire. How do I connect this black/yellow wire. Is this a hot wire as well?
if you do not have a circuit tester then it is time to buy that $3.00 item === it is a little glow light that will be a dim light at 110volts and a brighter light at 220volts -- has two wires with metal ends and can help you with the disposal and wall sockets or other connections ... any hardware store has this tester. NOW ... we deal with the blk/yellow wire -- it is possible that it is a ground, or it is a hot wire or it could be to a GFIC [[ ground fault interrupter circuit ]] that is in the home panel -- OR -- who knows about the electrician that was the original wiring person --- most I have ever seen in wires to a disposal is two [2] wires a blk and a wht == this is a common mistake that most DIYers make .. they do not take the time to make full investigation and label wires as they take things apart .... get the tester as that is the cheapest way to solve also look at panel for the GFIC or call an electrician ,,,,,,,,, respectfully,,, XTX
Q:I am trying to replace the window switch for the driver side and forgot the order of the wires. Can anyone hlep me.
The plugs will only go in a certain way . they a keyed that way so you don`t do it wrong 93t/a owner
Q:The resistivity of a 18.0 m long wire is 3.76E-8 Ω.m and its cross sectional area is 6.52E-6 m2. If the wire carries a current of 1.44 A, what is the voltage across the wire?
R = ( rho x l)/A Where: R is the resistance, rho the resistivity, l the length and A the area Resiatance of wire = (3.76 x 10^-8 x 18)/6.52 x 10^-6 R = 0.1038 Ohms Voltage across wire = current through wire x resistance of wire V = I x R V = 1.44 x 0.1038 V = 0.14947 V = 0.15 Volts
Q:If I knew which wires went to trim, rpms, engine hours,ect... I could follow them. The engine wiring harnes is stil intact, but I dont know which wire goes to each no matter which end I look at. Like I said wiring is no problem, don't know motors.
get a repair manual.in the back it will give you the wiring diagram for everything on your car the color codes too. you will spend some time matching them up but at least you wilol know what is what
Q:I'd like to know what quot;wiremeans when it refers to computers. Is it the computer itself or the Internet?
Need context to answer your question. Can you give us the complete sentence in which the word appears? EDIT: Thanks for the clarification. Over the wire or Across the wire refer to the days when things were done by telegraph, which was a wired way of communication in the days before computers. If an announcer is, say, 70 years old, he might still use the expression, even though it would now mean that he just got the news. And he would have received it by phone or via computer.
Q:ive heard multiple people talk about a 'final wire'. what is it exactly? Is it the thickest wire possible? Or is it when you havent gotten your wire changed in a while?
The final wire is, as its name implies, the very last wire that will be used before your braces comes off. It is usually either a square or rectangular wire and braided. The wire is used to do the final tweaking on your teeth and to close any minor gaps you may still have. And YES, it is the thickest wire you will wear.
Q:Are those coils of wires in an electric fan magnetic?
coils of wires always are magnetic (if there flows current trough them). the only use of such a coils besides as a magnet would be to deminish fluctuations, like in the fat piece of long usb cables. Else, its always magnetic
Q:i am installing a headunit, i connected all the wires the match, but i have some left over that i am confused about. from the wires that plug into the radio there is the antenna wire, the remote wire, and the ground with a washer to screw it down, and from the other is set of wires is a solid orange wire, which i have no idea where it goes to. so i connected the remote to the orange wire and didn't hook up the antenna to anything, and bolted down the ground wire. I'm wondering why i have 2 ground wires, and what the orange wire is and what do i connect to it?
The orange wire may be an illumination wire that controls the illumination or brightness of the head unit's lights when the car's headlights are turned on. You have two grounds because one is a chassis ground used to ground the metal frame on your head unit to the car's ground. Your head unit may or may not have an input for the illumination wire, in which case you need to remove it. I would also ground the head unit's frame using the second ground wire. Try looking online for the pinouts for your particular car's factory head unit. This will take the guesswork out of the install.
Q:I am trying to hook up my motorcycle turn signals but am having trouble with the wiring. Off of each signal stem comes a red wire (positve) and black wire (negative). Then coming form my bike I have a purple wire, blue wire, and green wire. I was messing around with the connections and was able to get all my signals to light up, but not in the fashion i need, like blinking correctly. Any suggestions? Do I need to split the wires? Does one wire go to the left signal and one to the right?
There are many model specific forums out there that would probably be a better place to ask this question. If this is a common model of motorcycle I would try looking for one. To hazard a guess, the green wire should be split and connected to the black wires. The purple and blue would then be the positive. Trial and error would tell you left and right. If you have a multimeter it would eliminate the guesswork.
Q:plzzz let me knw tis !! GRADE 10 PHYSICS- importance of live wires neutral wires !!!!!!!!!!
These two wires provide the voltage difference (called potential difference) that is responsible for driving the current through an appliance. Live and neutral are terms most commonly use with mains electrical supply .. they are equivalent to + (live) and - used with batteries and other DC sources. The live wire is at the higher voltage (most dangerous) and the neutral is usually close to ground voltage (0 V). Both wires together form the complete circuit required for the current .. from the supply (through the live wire) to the appliance and back to the supply (through the neutral wire). In a mains circuit a switch is always connected into the live wire so that the high voltage is disconnected from the appliance. A switch connected in the neutral wire prevents the appliance from working (so it appears to be off) because there is a break in the circuit .. but the high voltage is still connected to the appliance which may be dangerous. For the greatest safety a switch should disconnect both live and neutral wires at the same time.
