Q:i have a 1986 Ford Mustang 3.8L V6 automatic. i need to change to valve cover gaskets but im not sure if i can do it. what do i need to do? and do i need to ad something else other than new gaskets? thanks
Take your time when changing the gaskets. You will more than likely have to disconnect things. Make sure if you remove something it is put back. If you have to remove the spark plug wires, number them. From front to back, the left side is 1-3-5-7 and the right side front to back 2-4-6-8. I mark my wires with a sharpie but they are red wires. I use to use wooden clothes pins and write the number on the clothes pins. If you get the wires mixed up you'll have to get the firing order to get them back to the right cylinder. Good luck, you will appreciate your vehicle more now that you know the work is done right.
Q:why can't i just use solenoid valves hooked to a small bank of relays(using relay logic to control operation) connected to thermostats to control a multi zone boiler system? it would work, but can i do it, why must i use expensive zone valves?
Its just an educated guess but I would say it would cause system shock if a valve just snapped shut as against closing gently. Assuming the system was shutting down as a zone valve shuts the control switch opens and turns off the plant whilst the valve is still partly open. With a solenoid unless you fit a timer to pre shut off the plant then shut off the solenoid you would probably cause some plant damage. Also by the time you have wired all that lot up you may as well do the job with a zone valve.
Q:My check engine light is on in my 1999 Toyota Camry XLE...I went to autozone and they told me it was my egr valve BUT they did not tell me if it need to be cleaned or replaced. How can I tell if it needs to be cleaned or replaced

Q:Hello all,I have a1990,BMW 525i.I bought this car from another guy about year back and drive around 13000 kms.1.Do i need to adjust the valves(both inlet and outlet).2What is the importance of valve adjustment3Does it affect the mileage4.As a regular maintenance for how many kms can i drive without valve adjustmentExpecting your valuable replies.
If your engine is silent,u dont disturb the valve clearances. if your maintaing the car with dealers or qualified mechanics, they will tell you if valve adjustments are required. so dont worry much.
Q:so, im a day away from getting a 2002 748 and im super excited, iv always wanted a ducati, and i cant wait to have one of my own. i understand that ducks have a reputation of breaking and im prepared for it. I also understand the valves need to be adjusted every 50-100 feet :P all kidding aside i know every 6k miles they need to be adjusted. i dont know however how much it costs to have the valves adjusted. im sure it varys from shop to shop but a ball park quote would be really helpful just so its not a kick in the gut when i take it in for the first time. thanks
Well first, you need to get them inspected, and they'll only adjust the valves if it's needed, even at 6k mile intervals, if your valves are still in spec or very close without lobe drag, they probably won't be changed, so check your bill and ask your tech directly if they were changed, some less reputable dealers may try to pull a fast one on you. If you actually needed ALL 16 shims changed, you're easily talking $1000 in labor, esp. on the 748/916 style heads, which have access ports on the heads instead of being able to remove the whole top of the heads like the newer DESMOQUATTRO heads, and are a PITA to work on because of it. The bad thing is that until recently (and they still need improvement) Ducati's quality control is lower than other manufacturers, meaning very inconsistent performance reliability, just from variances in manufacturing. If you get a GOOD tech to do the bike right in the first place though, not just valves but all-important TPS resetting, cam timing/belt tension, and balanced CO's in your exhaust, you will have a lot less headaches with your Duc.
Q:looking to get a greddy type rs blwout valve for my sti, but i wana noe wut exactly da blowut valve does....kause i just got da car and i bought warranty, and i wana make sure ma warranyt doesnt void.....and how hard would it be to change da blowout valves....frum ma old 1 to dis new 1......so just incase ma warranty does void kause of da blwout valve wenneva i have problems i could switch it back to da original 1HELPPP???
flow with the APS blow off valve. As for the fool who reported call would not count, allow him flow purchase a $20 BOV and performance i the diaphragm start up leaking at idle and reason a lot of driving themes.
Q:i bought thie air connector kit and it has y-valves, suction cups and air control valves, what are the air control valves for?
air control valves are use for any sort of tubing or air pumps/air stones. air control valves are used to control the amount of oxygen/carbon dioxide allowed into your aquarium from the source. usually air pumps come with a air control valve but if not i suggest using one. also when using any sort of air line tubing connecting from the aquarium and out of the aquarium use a check valve! check valves are so important because it prevent water back flow out of your aquarium and into your cabinet, air pump, and of course you floor/carpet!
Q:I am 31 and just discovered I have severe Mitral Valve Prolapse (Heart probelm). I probably have to have surgery. I have been healthy all my life and I am a little scared. Anyone had surgery for it? What can I expect??
costly Madam, i'm a heart professional sending this text for you. desire it enables you. Mitral valve prolapse, often spoke of as MVP, is a basic heart valve illness. The mitral valve is between the left atrium and the left ventricle of the midsection. It has 2 leaflets (flaps) that administration the blood pass. MVP occurs whilst one or the two between the leaflets are enlarged or have extra advantageous tissue. MVP is often innocuous. besides the shown fact that, substantial issues can ensue, alongside with a blood clot in the recommendations and an infection called infective endocarditis related to the mitral valve as nicely as different valves. MVP seems two times as often in women persons as in adult men. that's maximum regularly a hereditary illness. some those with MVP have not have been given any indications. besides the shown fact that, maximum sufferers adventure a speedy or bizarre heartbeat, shortness of breath, easy-headedness, and protracted fatigue. Many sufferers additionally be afflicted by migraines, eating and drowsing issues, an overactive or contaminated thyroid gland, diarrhea, and chilly arms and ft. Emotional rigidity often magnifies the indications. medical doctors usually prescribe prevalent exams and cardio workout for persons who've MVP. sufferers are additionally advised to limit their intake or use of extreme-carbohydrate meals, caffeine, and decongestants. some sufferers would want beta-blockers and specific antiarrhythmic medicine. extra severe circumstances will require surgical operation to repair or replace the valve or to insert an digital regulator, including a pacemaker or defibrillator.
Q:This is in continuation to a question I posted earlier today.....In trying to remove the shut-off valve (that is for a dishwasher hookup) from the main hot water line under the kitchen sink, it just turns and turns and turns in the same spot w/out showing any threading. How to I get this removed so that I can either replace it or put a stopper on it so it will quit leaking?
Hi, Turning and turning...The valve on the pipe? If the pipe appears smooth copper it is probably a compression fitting. A compression fitting has a metal ferrul that gets compressed into the copper tube by the action of the nut being tightened onto the valve. The hex shaped nut must be unthreaded from the valve to remove such a fitting. If you go to the hardware store and find a clever salesperson, they can show you how that type of fitting comes apart. Flare fittings also turn and turn until you remove the nut from the hardware. I hope that helps. Louie
Q:I've been diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse, my doctor just told me that i need to setup an appointment with the hospital to look at treatments for heart mitral valve prolapse-to possibly have a heart valve replaced. I am wondering if i should setup an appointment with mayo clinice in minnesota to get another opinion on that? I'm wondering if surgery is an only option available to me, i have been taking beta blockers that have been no help for the past 3-4 months. Thanks.
Beta blockers. These drugs help prevent irregular heartbeats. They work by blocking the effects of the hormone epinephrine, also known as adrenaline. As a result, the heart beats more slowly and with less force, thereby reducing blood pressure. Beta blockers also help blood vessels relax and open up to improve blood flow. Valve replacement. Valve replacement is done when valve repair isn't possible. In valve replacement surgery, the damaged mitral valve is replaced by an artificial (prosthetic) valve. The two types of artificial valves are mechanical and tissue. Mechanical valves, which are made of metal, may last a long time. However, if you have a mechanical valve, you must use an anticoagulant medication, such as warfarin (Coumadin), for the rest of your life to prevent blood clots from forming on the valve. If a blood clot forms on the valve and breaks free, it could travel to your brain and cause a stroke. Tissue valves are made from biologic tissue such as a pig's heart valve. These kinds of valves are called bioprostheses. They may wear out over time and need replacement. However, an advantage of the tissue valve is that you don't have to use long-term anticoagulant medication. Please see the web pages for more details on Mitral valve Prolase and Heart valve surgery.
