- Q:I understand how to wire sprinkler valves in theory. But in practice, how is it done. For instance, starting at the last valves in the run, the common wire is attached, but in a 7-strand wire, you may only use 3 colored wires or so. What do you do with the unused wires? Just leave them dangling? Cap them off with a grease cap? Then, as you arrive at the next set of valves, do you cut the entire strand and splice, or just cut out the individual colored wires that you need to wire those valves?
- well if you have a few extra strands in the cable, they may be used in the future if you add on to the sprinkler system with more valves. or to help troubleshoot wiring problems. no need to cap the unused wires, just cut them and leave them our company leaves enough of the wire in the valve box, to be able to pull out the connection for service. make sure you leave enough wire to service the valves and their connections easlily.. we then wrap the unused cables around the used wires and the connections. keeps the valve box nice and neat, and ready to be serviced if needed. the next set of valves, the best way is to cut the whole cable and splice them back. it is just easier. again, make sure you leave a good bit of wire in the box so you can service it easily. i work on sprinkler systems for a living. one pet peeve is when a connection is not in the valve box, but inthe ground around it, b/c some one cut the wire too short.then i will have to dig up the connnections and repair them, instead of just doing it through the valve box without messing up the customer's yard. and by the way, grease caps arent the best way of sealing wire connections. the best way for irrigation is with the orange wire nuts, and seal them with Dri-Splice. from my dad's over 20 years of expericence and my last few years, this is the best way. good luck and hope this helps.
- Q:Ok, bought this mower at an estate auction for next to nothing. It looks like its never been used. Previous owner ripped out all the wires to the ignition switch so it wouldn't sell I guess. It's the craftsman lt 1500. Model number 247.288812. It has the 17.5hp bs motor in it. Does anyone know the correct way the wires go to the switch? There are 3 red wires so its a bit unlike what im used to. Thanks in advance!
- On my sears mower with an electric clutch the switch is wired like this. G terminal is a black wire to ground. B terminal is a red wire to the ammeter. S terminal is a white wire to a safety switch. M terminal has two black wires one to the ignition coil and the other to a safety switch. L teminal is a red wire to the alternator and a red wire to the PTO switch.

- Sure, wire is wire. Sometimes you can have noise problems when the grounding wire is too small, but you're talking about 0 gauge so definitely not an issue! This is all provided that you have a way to connect a 0 gauge wire to the equipment you're talking about. Most won't accept that large of grounding wire because it's overboard on size.

- any car audio installer can hook you up with the right high grade wire by the foot in any gauge your looking for.theres a difference between home depot wiring and car audio wiring.the car audio wiring has a strand count.the more the better.

- I actually have a sparkling invisiline retainer and prefer it. I sparkling it two times an afternoon in pepsodent (using chilly water, no longer warm). I on no account consume with the retainer--I consistently do away with it as quickly as I consume--and when I consume, I brush my tooth and then brush/rinse the retainer. I do the pepsodent soakings two times an afternoon--morning and at night. I used Efferdent till now each and everything, yet that took too long--30-40 5 minutes. Pepsodent works in approximately 3 minutes. I save a broom with the Pepsodent and use it to scrub the answer out of the recesses of the retainer. that's in simple terms a habit now--in case you do this, your retainer will stay vivid and sparkling. No stinkiness. (And my orthodontist stated that Efferdent --no longer the blue-staining varieties--and Pepsodent artwork in simple terms besides as Retainer Brite. that's much less annoying to locate Pepsodent Efferedent besides. reliable success.
