- Q:but it says there are three Pink wires. There's not even three pink wires coming out of the car.The chassis/clip has been removed (by previous owner) and all that is left is the wires. All that is needed is a list of the colors and what they go to. Thanks.

- Q:why is neutral wire.explain plz
- For current to flow you need a complete circuit. The neutral point of the generator winding at the power station is connected to the ground or earth and the neutral point of the transformer in your local sub-station is connected to earth. Believe it or not this completes the circuit to allow the current to flow since the neutral connection in your house is connected to the local sub-station transformer neutral.
- Q:Who makes the best spark plug wires? i think the ones on my car are crap...they are Mag*star O.E. replacements, and they suck. What do you recomend? Its an 89 thunderbird
- As with all makes and model vehicles on the road, the best replacement parts is what it came with from the factory, in your case, Motorcraft is the origional equipment replacement ( OEM ) but they are usually available only from the dealership parts dept, which usually is a hard hit to the wallett. A good quality replacement set of plug wires that I use in my repair shop is Napa premium silicone plug wires, ( they also may carry the name Beldon ) They have a lifetime warranty for as long as you own your vehicle. They are fairly expensive, but they are good, I use them in my own vehicles. If I may add to that, I had a problem with one of the wires on my Ford pickup about a year ago and I have had those wires about 6 or 7 years I think, I took them back to Napa, and got a brand new set, no questions asked. My pickup has been running fine since.
- Q:i would like to know what are the best spark plug wires
- NGK wires are the best bang for your buck as far as aftermarket wires go
- Q:im trying to install a cd player i need to know where i can hook up power(red) , constant(yellow), and my amp seems to take alot for remote wire so i need a good source for it too i also have a eq to power but dont know if it will work with the same source as the radio
- You can get the constant and accessory wires at the ignition harness. If you want colors you'll have to specify a year, make, and model.
- Q:The switches for the ventilation have 6 wires coming out of the ceiling. My ventilation unit has 5 wires. The ceiling has 2 black, 2 red, and 2 white wires. The ventilation unit has yellow, black, white, red, and blue. how do i make the connections?
- First of all, I agree with Peter K, and you must get those instructions--Very Important! How a fixture is wired depends upon its location in relation to the wires that lead from the main service entrance. So really no one can tell you for sure how to wire your ventilation fixture up without Seeing it. Also, how many switches are involved..1,or 2 or 3? Usually, White wires are always neutral, black always hot. BUT- in certain switch installations both black and white wires could be hot too. Red wires are used for grounding. Now there are improved grounding systems for greater safety, other colors involved, and jumper wires that are connected to the receptacle for a continuous ground. So that is why every one has answered your Q with caution about telling you how to do it. Sorry, I wasn't much of a help either!
- Q:Why is thin strand wire better for powering car audio?
- DC current rides on the outer valence electrons at the surface of the wire strand so the more conductors in the cable stranded together the better. AC current is a push pull so any old aluminum conductor will work as long as it won't melt under the amperage load. For 12 VDC audio amps, you want the power cable with the most fine strands twisted together for the least resistance to DC current flow because the power FET's will heat up as the power feed wire heats up. The lower the DC voltage loss, the cooler the FET amplifier modules will operate.
- Q:What's the best kind of wire to use that can stand being kilned?
- that really depends what you want to do and how high you are going to fire. Generally nichrome 80/20 wire should be OK until cone 9. Then there is Kanthal which will withstand even higher temperatures but is more expensive than nichrome. You could get either probably in electronics supply houses. If you do lowfire, maybe up to cone 06 or lower steel will probably be OK. The surface of the steel will oxidise and so get clearly thinner, keep that in mind. Generally your wire and the clay should not be in direct contact because they have different thermal expansion coefficients. Depends how rigid your wire is if it will lead to major damage to your piece. But if you wrap your wire with paper before you put clay around it it is probably OK as long as you don't enclose the entire thing with clay into a hollow space. But it also depends on what exactly you are trying to do, e.g. what kind of clay you are using. Mostly people use wire with clay for making beads. If that's what you are doing you can also look up bead making techniques.
- Q:The wires I have are: 1 red starter cable, 1 tan wire, 1 ground wire to the engine block, 1 red wire to the battery, and 1 red wire that splits into the fuse and into the junction strip. Really need to know which wires go where on the solenoid.
- Red starter wire goes on one of the big lugs, the other big lug gets the wire form the battery and the smaller red wire, the white wire should go on the small lug closest to the battery wire and the black should got to the other small lug. Once you you mount the solenoid on the engine you will be able to tell which side the starter wire and the battery wire are to be placed on the solenoid. The wire from the starter should be only long enough to reach the top lug or the bottom lug just because the way it has to be routed.
- Q:I recently re-wired my house with 4 wire telephone wire. They all meet in the attic. How do I wire them together and is there some kind of junction plate I can use? Additionally, I did also wire my house with Cat6 wire, but would like to keep it strictly for Internet.
