- It's a third rate additive for gas tank fuel injector valve cleaning. You're throwing it away by dumping it in the crankcase. Modern engine oil does a good job of keeping the crankcase clean. Chevron Techron and 3-M Total fuel system cleaner are better cleaners mixed properly in the fuel tank are better cleaners than Sea Foam.

If you suddenly eat a lot of wheat bran, you will experience gastrointestinal distress. The same thing happens with ANY fiber - some is good for you, but if you suddenly eat a lot, you will not feel well. That does not make guar gum dangerous.
