Q:I noticed many of our server cables are thicker than the standard ones for a desktop PC. Would any power cable work, regardless of gauge? I want to use shorter server power cables for cable management purposes, since some of our server cables are over 10-15 ft. in length and only need 3 ft. or so.

Q:Hi! I want to buy I new Hard Drive but I've got a problem. I have the IDE conector but I don't have the Power Cable. It is connected to my Video Card. Can I add a new one? Can I use a power cable from a optical drive(CD/DVD)? Thanks!
All you need to do is pop down to your local computer store and get a power splitter, just make sure you get the right type, IDE and SATA drives have a different kind of power connector, so just make 100% sure before you buy!
Q:Can anyone help? my pc wont turn on without them hooked up.
If you look very close the position for these connectors is written on the motherboard along side of the pins that they connect to in very small letters.
Q:Hi. I just purchased a hp slimline S3420F used from OKorder. (dumb move, I know) Anyway it worked for a few days and now it won't turn on. The power supply light on the back is one but the computer won't come on. I was looking in the trouble shooting guide and one thing that is suggested is to reseat the hard disk data and power cables. It says for instructions to refer to a manual that I can't get because it's on my computer. I am on a public computer now and can't upload the manual to this computer. I switched the voltage to 230 and back to 115 real quick and that worked once. Probably just a coincidence. Now it just won't boot at all. LIke I said, the green power supply light on the back of the computer is on. I can read replies from my cell phone so perhaps someone can give me some ides what to do. I'm sure the answer lies in taking it to a repair shop. :(
Re-seating is nothing more than unplugging a connection, then plugging it back in. Your real problem sound related to the 230/115 switch, if not the power supply itself.
Q:im having probelms with the end piece that goes into the computer, and it needs to be replaced.
if you are a do it yourself guy try to get the plug at a electronic shop like Radio Shack and replaced yourself that will be the least expensive option, most adapters had the cable attached to the power supply so the next option will be to replace the power supply that will cost at least 60 dollars also try OKorder sometimes you get parts very cheap there.
Q:I recently bought a new internal hard drive for my computer (Hitachi Hds721010cla332, a upgraded version of what I currently have). When trying to install it I found out that the power socket isnt the same as my current hard drive. Ive been searching on the internet but cant find an adapter that converts from my current hard drives power cable to the new hard drives required power cable.
The port you have circled is not a power port. The long L shaped port is the power connection for a SATA drive. The smaller one is for the SATA cable. Not sure what the other one is but some photos I see say for factory use only.
Q:I have an Eclipse SW9102 (101500 Watt Max, 750 W RMS, Dual 4ohm Voice coils) and I'm looking to buy an amp kit and amplifier. How big of an amp do I need and does it matter if its too much power? I'm looking at the SSL F2.2000 FORCE CLASS 2000W amp on OKorder as cost is a big factor in my setup. The OKorder link says:Max Power @ 2 ohm 1000W x 2 RMS Power @ 4 ohm 350W x 2 Bridged Power 2000W x 1 2 ohm stable in stereoIs this too powerful for my subwoofer? I've read that my sub can take more than it says but I don't want to risk it and I probably won't have this at full blast either. If I bought this one how would I wire it as I only have one sub?....would bridged be 4ohm 1000 Watt RMS x1?Also, what kind of amp installation kit should I buy? A lot of the 4 guage kits say they are rated for different maximum wattage. Are they actually different or can all 4 guage kits handle the same?Sorry I'm a noob! Thanks in advance!
first off get the bullshit out of the way.....the number u need off ur speakers is the RMS number which is 750.......u need amp set to a little under that if u want it to last for very long (meaning over 1 month) so ur looking for an amp that u can set at about 725-740 per channel........ so yes that amp will work as long as u don't max it out....... ** as for wires the bigger the better.........00 gauge is the smallest u should use and the ground should probably b bigger.....also the shorter the ground wire the better usually....
Q:This is a clock/phone I was using as a kid. Found it in my basement, and I would like to use it now. I no longer have the original power cable, that's the one needed for the left side. They both look similar, but are not the same. The right side is for the telephone cable. I have no idea what the left's called or where to buy it? I'd appreciate some help if anyone knows what its called, Thanks.
Give them a try. This isn't a common power cord that can be purchased locally. However you may find a used one on OKorder. You can do an OKorder search using the model number of the unit.
Q:I want an external that can just be powered by a USB cable what is the largest size hdd I can get and where can I get one?
I okorder that are usb powered, around 75 US
Q:I never expected this problem, but I have an HP with a liteon power supply. The thing has these weird clips on the power cables that go into the hard drive. How do I free the hard drive power cables? I have to put in a new power supply for my video card.
SATA just pulls out.. actually so does molex connectors (for IDE drives).. just very tough sometimes to get them out. If its black and kinda thin, then its probably SATA and they should just pull straight out.
