Q:what is the wavelength of a sound wave if the frequency is 512 and distance between resonance points is 0.108m? thanks
It depends on the medium through which the sound is travelingfrequency wavelength speed Sound has different speeds depending on whether it is traveling through air, water, steel, granite, crude oil, aluminum, etcI don't see any specifications about the sound traveling through tubes, so where do resonance points come in?
Q:What chemical reaction would I get if were to put a steel object with a zinc alloy coating into a solution of baking soda,( 5%acid) white distilled vinegar, hydrogen peroxide with some aluminum foil? Would it do anything to the metal ?
baking soda, NaHCO3 will release CO2 when acid is present, leaving H2O and NaOH Vinegar is 5% acetic acid, CH3COOH will cause release of the CO2, leaving acetate to react with the Na hydrogen peroxide, H2O2 will release O2 and become just H2O, just water with any number of stimuli zinc coated steel will react only with a strong acid over a period of time, there will be some electron exchange between the Al and the Zn in a solution of conducting material such as you have.
Q:For a school project I need to find a way to save an ice cube for longer than 3 hoursI can't put in the fridge or the snow, I have to put it in a classroomI can use anything, but the contents and the ice cube must fit in a yoghurt potPlease help!
Line the inside of the pot with a layer of Aluminium foil with the shiny side insideWrap the outside of the pot with 2 layers of foilNearest layer to the pot with shiny side in and the other shiny side outNow wrap the outside in newspaperWrap the ice cube in 2 layers of foilThe layer nearest to the cube, shiny side inThe outer layer, shiny side outMake sure there's a space around the wrapped cube and the sides of the container(Air doesn't conduct heat)Finally, put 2 layers of foil tighly over the top of the container as a lid and, cover that with newspaperHeat will have a hard job getting through to the iceThe foil will reflect the colder heat waves back in and the warmer ones back outThe wrapping will also provide a longer heat path through to the cube and slow down heat transfer considerably(Using dry ice will be the same as using refrigerationThat's a No-No).
Q:I am going to ferment some tomato goo seeds junk in a cup (nice vocabulary ^^) and i was wondering if it is okay to use aluminum foil (with a hole of course) rather than plastic wrap to cover the cup because we are out of plasticI wasn't sure if the process required light or not/
Why are you fermenting tomatoes? CuriousIf you're not eating them then sure, use it.
Q:My bf and I do not eat beans at all, and I know that is always a cheap option but we hate themI'm sick of spaghettiI'm a really great chef but im on such a tight budget and I'm running out of ideas for delicious healthy dinnersWe do salads, ground turkey dishes and pasta all the timeSo maybe something I haven't thought of please :)
Definitely will be a snarky answer, but foil on windows looks dumbWhy even bother having a window if you can't see though it? There are several 'light/heat' blocking curtains and shades you can find at any store that has housewares, and though it will be more expensive than foil, will look nice and keep your room coolAnd perhaps I'm wrong, but it will be the rare window that will focus enough heat to set the foil or curtain on fire.
Q:I feel like an idiot for buying this thing, but I didnt know any betterBasically this is one of those sheds you see all over the place that look like little aluminum houses with sliding doors in the frontWell if you have ever tried to put up or take apart one of these, you feel my painDespite all my efforts and several tubes of silicone, it still leaksI want to seal the whole damn thing so I thought maybe I could coat it with some sealant like the spray on sealer that they have, or something like itDoes anyone have any ideas or perhaps have the same problem?? Thanks!
Hi, SteveDon't feel like an idiot, please, or I'll have to do that too, and I don't wannaSo it's a big cheap box to keep stuff in, but more lawn garden stuff than a Steinway pianoPretty good for keeping critters out, stuff from walking off, and just clearing out the garageKeep the really good stuff in the houseSoGo after the roof, mainlyAll joints should at least overlap a bit, and then can be sealed better with a big fat silicone caulk line, not a weanie little smear, but a big fat line, initially pushed into the seamsSidewalls can be dealt with the same way, but maybe take it a little easier, or you'll have a noticeable mess In the process, look for seams that can easily be pushed apart by a few fingers - not enough fastenersGo after something like one screw every foot or so on the run of a seam, using like self-piercing sheet metal screws, say a 8, 1/2 long, with a hex head, that can be zipped in with a cordless drillNoting that the things will leave sharp tips inside the shed, in some cases might want to punch through with one from the store first, then back out and replace with some dulled by zipping the tip on a bench ginder or belt sander (two bags on the tool belt, etc.) Or, predrill and use all dulledAround the door, best shift to machine screws, drilling through and using a lock washer and a nut - or a nylox locking nut - to go for tightness because of the stress and motion in that area All this assumes you're just not bummed over water getting in the bottomShould be at least a little above-grade, on some kind of foundation or platform.
Q:I'm taking care of my dad while my mother is away (meaning preparing his meals and keeping his house clean) and when I went to start washing his dishes, I saw 3 Cornish Game Hens defrosting in the sinkI can only assume that he wants the hens for dinner, but I'm not much of an omnivore, so I have no idea how to prepare them.Does anyone have a suggestion on how to cook them, including ingrediants, applications and cook time? Also, what would be a good side for the hens?(This is a challenge for me in that my stomach churns a bit when I touch meat in the shape of a body, but I can do this!)
BAKED CORNISH GAME HENS 4 whole Cornish hens 1/2 cbutter 1 onion, quartered 1 orange, quartered 4 slices celery 2 tbspparsley flakes 2 tbspMrsDash's garlic and herb spice 1 cwhite wine Wash hens and pat dry; place in aluminum foil enough to wrap each hen separatelyStuff each hen with slice onion, orange, and celeryMelt butter until softPat each hen with butter and sprinkle each with parsley flakes and MrsDash's spicesPour 1/4 cup of wine in each hen and wrap in foilBake in 350 degree oven for one hour, or until doneOpen foil last 10 minutes to brownServe with rice or stuffing.
Q:I have high polished aluminum wheels that are in bad shape, may have been damaged by acid from wheel cleaners.Does anyone have any experience with cleaning them?If so what products do you recomend?Have you seen the aluminum deoxidizer from California Custom Products that uses acid to clean aluminum wheels? These are not factory clear coated wheels.
It will keep for ages, at least 6 months
Q:what is the shape and the namelike trigonal planar v shaped
Its shape is a tetrahedronAluminum tetrahydride is an anion rather than a compound and is found in such compounds as LiAlH4 and NaAlH4.
