Q:I got nauseous the other day and that day one thing I ate was hamburger baked for 1 hour on aluminum foil with tomatoes mixed in. Is it possible the upset stomach was caused by the tomatoes reacting with the foil?
I got sick from fried chicken that had been laying in foil all afternoon. It had a foil taste. yuk. I have baked macaroni and cheese before and covered it with foil, then the foil would start disintegrating. Not sure why that happened, but ewww.
Q:... initial temperature of the water or the initial temperature of the aluminum? Why?
The correct equation is: dQ = m*c*dT As dQ (substitute of thermal potential) and mass are the comparable, the equation may well be rewritten as: c*dT=consistent So a cloth with a decrease specific warmth skill could have a much better improve in temperature. The question has already suggested this yet now all of us be attentive to they are inversely proportional. to that end: c of aluminium/c of copper = dT of aluminium / dT of copper 0.22/0.092 = proportionality consistent = 2.39 So copper would be 2.4 circumstances warmer than aluminium (or aluminium would be 0.40 two circumstances warmer than copper).
Q:What is the typical modulus of elasticity of aluminum sheets?
The typical modulus of elasticity of aluminum sheets varies depending on the alloy and temper. However, a commonly used value is around 70 GPa (gigapascals) or 10 million psi (pounds per square inch). This value represents the stiffness or rigidity of the material, indicating its ability to withstand deformation under applied stress. It is important to note that different grades and conditions of aluminum may have slightly different modulus of elasticity values, so it is recommended to consult the specific material specifications for accurate information.
Q:Can aluminum sheet be used for heat exchangers?
Yes, aluminum sheet can be used for heat exchangers. Aluminum is a commonly used material for heat exchangers due to its excellent thermal conductivity, light weight, and corrosion resistance. The high thermal conductivity of aluminum allows for efficient transfer of heat between fluids, making it suitable for various heat exchange applications. Additionally, aluminum is available in different alloys and thicknesses, providing flexibility in design and customization for specific heat exchanger requirements. Overall, aluminum sheet is a popular choice for heat exchangers in industries such as automotive, HVAC, and aerospace.
Q:I am doing a project on Aluminum it has 13 protons just to make sure everyones on the same page. How much of it is left or exsits? Also how does it behave?
As Vincent noted, aluminium is an abundant element in the earth's crust. It occurs in all clay minerals. Its main ore, bauxite(a mixture of aluminium hydroxides) is still available in vast deposits; particularly in Australia and South America. Aluminium is a reactive element, and so is not found in nature in the elemental form. Aluminium is a metal, and an amphoteric substance; that is; it reacts with both acids and bases.
Q:on the metal activity series, aluminum sits between magnesium and zinc, and all three sit above hydrogen. Explain why aluminum typically reacts only slowly with dilute acids even though both magnesium and zinc react rapidly
Aluminum metal reacts with oxygen in the air to form a very tightly bonded aluminum oxide on its surface which slows the attack of acids trying to make contact with the aluminum atoms below the surface.
Q:What are the different methods of surface passivation for aluminum sheets?
There are several methods of surface passivation for aluminum sheets, including anodizing, chromate conversion coating, and organic coatings. Anodizing involves creating a protective oxide layer on the surface of the aluminum through an electrochemical process. Chromate conversion coating is a chemical treatment that converts the aluminum surface into a thin chromate film, providing corrosion resistance. Organic coatings, such as paints or lacquers, can also be applied to aluminum sheets to provide a protective barrier against moisture and other environmental elements.
Q:My frame snapped and I want to fix it by welding it back together. In order to do that, I need to know what all is in the aluminum.
You can NOT weld back an aluminum frame unless you have the facilities to anneal and heat treat the frame again. Rewelding without the post treatments will result in a very soft area around the new weld causing sudden catastrophic failure... this means if you are riding it could fail at any time causing injury or death. EDIT: Wait just a durn minute. The 2100 and 2300 had carbon fiber tubes bonded to aluminum lugs and stays. If your bike failed then you ABSOLUTELY should not try to weld it. The heat from welding (even if you had post treatment facilities) would destroy the bond between the CF and aluminum. Fair warning- cut the frame apart and throw it away.
Q:Are aluminum sheets resistant to saltwater corrosion?
Yes, aluminum sheets are highly resistant to saltwater corrosion.
Q:Can aluminum sheets be painted after installation?
Yes, aluminum sheets can be painted after installation.
