- My horse is blanketed early so she doesn't grow as long of coat then I clip herI have various weights of blanket however not sure how much filling yours have but she has a blanket on from +5 downThe important thing when they are blanketed is that they don't over heatI'm not sure how much of a coat your horse has on too but the only problem with blanketing is it flattens the hair and the horse is less insulatedIf I were you since your horse normally isn't blanketed I wouldn't and unless he is shaking or is showing signs of being cold leave the blanket off!!!! - you also shouldn't eat anything with seeds on it.(strawberrys, rye bread, etc) as they will get stuck in the pockets (which is what the problem isYou get little bulge like pockets in your colon and seeds, nuts etc will get piled up in there causing the problemIf you have a mild case you are lucky as it is excrutiating when it's badI would be very careful what I eat as to not make it worse.

- Best thing is to heavily insulate the outside of the room- that will keep the heat outMake sure you get a vapor barrier in place as wellBut insulation is the best thing to keep the heat out, and in when it is cool.
