The surface is a smooth matte finish that makes it ideal to paint or laminate. Sheets are tough, high-strength and lightweight, and can be ordered in a wide range of sizes, thicknesses and colors.  PVC foam sheet  is recommended for industrial and commercial signage. Q:We are using this for a slip and slide at a camp and need some plastic that is sturdy and will withstand many kids going down it. 6 mil is the minimum, but 8 to 10 mil is prefered and it needs to be about 40 ft x 100 ft. We'd prefer no black, as it will be super hot in the sun. I have already called a few local farm stores, Lowes, and Home Depot. Are there any places that I may have forgotten?
10 Mil Plastic Sheeting
Q:Do plastic sheets have any limitations or disadvantages?
Yes, plastic sheets have limitations and disadvantages. They are not as durable as other materials such as metal or glass, which means they can easily crack, break, or warp over time. Additionally, plastic sheets are less heat resistant, making them unsuitable for applications where high temperatures are involved. They can also be prone to scratching and can accumulate static electricity. Moreover, certain types of plastic sheets may release harmful chemicals when exposed to certain conditions, posing health and environmental risks.
Q:I admit I haven’t seen these in years and I'm not sure I’m even using the right term. The only slide shows I’ve seen or made in the past 7 years were Power Point ones. But several years ago I remember these clear plastic sheets that could be printed on with my simple, cheap, disposable printer (a Lexmark that came free with my PC).I have a little 3 in 1 Inkjet (Epson Stylus CX4800) and I want to be able to print on thin sheets of plastic. QUESTIONSDo they still sell those sheets? What are they called?Who sells them?Do you think they would work in an Inkjet or would I need to find someone with a Laser or other type of printer? Thanks
They are called overhead transparencies like the previous posts say. Make sure you find the one that says for inkjet printers if you are going to use an inkjet. The bad thing is, less and less people are manufacturing them so they are pretty expensive now compared to 4 or 5 years ago. I was shopping for some a few months ago and whoa, the price tripled from before. Anyhow good luck, STAPLES, Office Max, Office Depot. Walmart and Target used to sell em, but not anymore.
Q:Can plastic sheets be thermoformed?
Yes, plastic sheets can be thermoformed. Thermoforming is a manufacturing process where plastic sheets are heated and then molded into various shapes and forms using a combination of vacuum pressure and/or mechanical force.
Q:You know like 'pexiglas' or what ever. I need Something simular to that. Maybe .5 in or around there for the thickness. What could i Use?
plexiglass ..home depot sells it
Q:I need just a few sheets of ABS plastic sheet, about 12X50is there anywhere that sells this for under $50?
This okorder / to bid for you. It'll bid in the last few seconds of an auction, helping to save you money and avoid shill bidding.
Q:I am making paintings (fine art) that can be painted and lifted like large decals. I have used 6 mil shipping plastic, This works great, but is hell to format and non-permanent. I need to identify and locate a more stable substitute. (Clear plastic sheeting; large solid sheets that watersoluble paint will peel off of.)I would think the same thing tupperware is made of (polypropylene), but cannot find it in flat clear sheets. Does anyone know what the clear painters pallettes are made of (melamine?) and if it is sold in sheets to the public? I have been trying to put a finger on this for over 2 years--any help or leads out there?thanx
Poly carbon Lexan would work well. My husband was the plant manager for a place that made clear bottom kayaks and that it what they used. It comes in different thicknesses and is bulletproof. One of my hubby's fav tests for the buyer was to take a 12 lb sledgehammer and beat on the kayak to show how strong it was. It is also very lightweight. The whole kayak only weighed 38 lbs. I did the graphics on them and the acrylic should peel off nicely. If you would like more info go to my profile and e-mail me. Good luck!
Q:The table cloth is a transparent plastic sheet. Is there any easy way to remove candle wax that fell on it?
i'm not sure about removing but i know a way of prevent it by apply some olive oil or vaseline between the candles and the table or your plastic sheets.
Q:Kitchen roof plastic buckle how to dismantle?
1, the ceiling in the demolition of the original ceiling should take into account the safety of equipment and facilities, the need to avoid the demolition work affect the normal use of other kitchens in the kitchen. In principle, the ventilation and exhaust flue should be avoided when dismantling, and the original internal wires and water pipes need to be avoided.2, in the kitchen ceiling demolition, you need to know is that the decoration of the ceiling must be consistent with the overall style of the kitchen, so that it can achieve beautiful results.
Q:for our last day of term at uni, we are hoping to make a big water slide down our corridor, (about 12m x 2m) the sheet would have to be waterproof as it will be covered in either washing up liquid or baby oil (probably no actual water) at the minute our cheapest material is looking like bin bags and duct tape, but does anyone know of a cheap, plastic like material we could use instead, to avoid the inevitable leaks from the joins?
Go to any builders yard and you can get a massive roll of 1000g plastic which is generally used as DPC (damp proof course) under the floors of buildings. Cost...long time since I bought it about ?30/ or you can buy any length of it you like, off the roll.
