Q:Can solar panels be used for powering a museum or cultural institution?
Yes, solar panels can certainly be used to power a museum or cultural institution. Solar panels generate electricity by converting sunlight into energy, and this renewable energy source can effectively meet the power needs of such establishments. By installing solar panels on the building's roof or in nearby open spaces, museums and cultural institutions can reduce their dependence on traditional energy sources, lower their carbon footprint, and potentially even generate excess electricity that can be fed back into the grid. Additionally, embracing solar power aligns with the sustainable and environmentally conscious image often associated with these institutions.
Q:Can solar panels be installed on theme parks or amusement parks?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on theme parks or amusement parks. In fact, many amusement parks around the world are increasingly adopting solar energy to power their operations. Solar panels can be installed on rooftops, parking lots, or even integrated into the design of rides and attractions. This helps to reduce the parks' carbon footprint, lower energy costs, and promote sustainability in the entertainment industry.
Q:Can solar panels be installed on a data storage facility or server farm?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on a data storage facility or server farm. In fact, many data centers and server farms are now incorporating solar power as a sustainable energy solution. By harnessing solar energy, these facilities can reduce their reliance on traditional electricity sources and lower their carbon footprint. Installing solar panels on such facilities not only helps them achieve cost savings in the long run but also contributes to a more environmentally friendly operation.
Q:(For a project)I know they are made of silicon, but I want to EVERYTHING they are made of. Ex Metal (What kind)Please tell me everything used from their production to the finished projectThank you
photograph voltaic panels take power (and in all probability some oil for the plastic) to fabricate, yet that power, and the carbon footprint, is paid for many circumstances over in widespread operation, via the electrical powered energy that the panel generates. The life of the middle photograph voltaic cells is long (there are nonetheless some panels from the 970's that are nonetheless out and dealing), and contemporary panels are oftentimes warranted for 25 years, showing that even the manufacturers have self assurance in thier lifespan. yet whilst it ultimately comes time to eliminate the panels, the aluminum physique is as particularly recycled as the different aluminum, and the tempered, low-iron glass could properly be recycled, too. The plastic substrate is unavoidably solid - it has to stand up to the solar for some years. i do no longer understand what could desire to be achieved with that. The cells themselves are a intense grade of silicon, which has fee on the scrap industry. some panels are no longer made up of silicon - yet lots of the factors could desire to be recycled in a similar fashion. i'm no longer attentive to any intense panels being dumped or discarded at present. they're worth lots, even broken, that some hobbyist or surplus place will purchase them.
Q:Can solar panels be installed on swimming pools?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on swimming pools. These panels can help heat the pool water using solar energy, reducing the need for traditional heating methods and lowering energy costs.
Q:What in the solar panel wares out so that the panel can not convert the suns energy to electric energy? Please post were you get answers.
Panel degradation can occur in many ways, but they generally take a long time (40yr old panels are still working...). One problem is diffusion. Since the cells are at a finite temperature and receive energy from the light, atoms in the structure can migrate around the cell. If you mix up materials from either side of the junction, you can reduce or remove the internal field and so charge separation no longer occurs, meaning no more current output. This is generally a very, very slow process. My current research is on the back contacts of cadmium-telluride solar cells. CdTe forms a junction with metals, and this junction has a built in electric field that tries to stop the current going out of the cell. This is bad! It reduces the power you get out. To overcome this, copper is sometimes added. This really cuts down on the restrictions on current, but copper is very diffusive. Within weeks at room temperature it can jiggle its way along grain boundaries (the solar cells aren't one big crystal, but a load of small grains. Our lab makes ones about 0.006mm across). Whilst copper at the back contact is good because it cancels out the effect of the field there, once it gets to the cell junction it has a worse effect. It can act as a 'recombination centre' or 'shunting pathway' - it either absorbs the free charges or takes them somewhere useless and cuts the power output. Copper is a very obvious and quick acting cause of solar panels reducing in output. I believe a similar effect is true for other cells, just with different materials. The quality of the junction degrades slowly as heat and light give energy to atoms in the lattice and make them jiggle around a bit. Once you have things out of place, performance degrades.
Q:What are the advantages of using solar panels?
There are several advantages of using solar panels. Firstly, solar energy is a renewable source that does not deplete natural resources, making it environmentally friendly. Additionally, solar panels produce clean energy, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and combating climate change. Solar power can also save money in the long run, as it reduces or eliminates electricity bills. Moreover, solar panels require minimal maintenance and have a long lifespan, making them a reliable and cost-effective energy solution. Finally, solar energy can provide energy independence, as it can be generated on-site, reducing reliance on traditional power grids.
Q:Can solar panels be damaged by hail or strong winds?
Yes, solar panels can be damaged by hail or strong winds. Hailstones can cause cracks or dents on the surface of solar panels, affecting their efficiency. Likewise, strong winds can potentially dislodge or break the panels, leading to their damage or complete destruction. It is important to ensure proper installation and consider protective measures, such as using impact-resistant glass or adding extra support structures, to minimize the risk of damage from hail or strong winds.
Q:Me and my wife just saw an ad on TV about going solar and saw the money we can save every month... any here have solar panels? How much do you save every month on energy bill? Is it true that your energy meter will spin backwards? lol
We just recently had Pursol Solar Systems install some solar panels for our house. We got ours with no money down, found them online, and they happen to be in the same city where we live. Cool thing about switching to renewable energy is that you get tax break... government will actually pay for your solar panels! Also, YES ITS TRUE! You're meter will spin backwards because energy that's being produced that your not using, goes back to your energy provider (like selling it to them during peak hours)....
Q:Am using 800watts sukam inverter and have 55watts panel. What controller can i use to connect my solar system to have a max power . Already i have 200 Amp/hr battery
You need a charger Controller but 55 watt panel is not a whole lot of power. So yes you can buy a very good one but it will cost a lot more. For a 55 watt panel you only need a 4 to 7 amp controller. But why not buy a 0 amp so you can add a second solar panel etc... A PWM (Pulse Width Modulated) is the cheapest and most robust type MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) These controllers actually detect the optimum operating voltage and amperage of the solar array and match that with the battery bank. The result is additional 5-30% more power out of your array versus a PWM controller So unless you have a system over 200 watt the PWM works very good I have two of the PWM myself
