Q:I own a crappy steel string acoustic and a very nice electric guitar.I have saved up to buy a new acoustic but I cannot decide to just invest in a better steel string or explore around with a nylon string. From others experience, will I get my fill of satisfaction of playing on a nylon, or should I stick to a steel string?

Q:I would like to build steel galvanization plant.
bcaz of the very corrosive conditions in petrochemical plants, steel without coating doesnt work. coating with zinc (e. g. hot dip galvanizing) help protecting the steel for more time, in simple words , zinc is corroded instead of iron and until there is some zinc on the surface steel is protected. we usualy dont use paint coating bcaz: 1.any porosity in the paint coat result in severe corrosion and steel should be completely coated with paint to be protected ,instead large prosity in zinc coating doesnt matter at all 2. usual painting materials arent proper for the severe corrosive condition ASTM standard( american society for testing and materials) offer world accepted standards for painting quality control
Q:I was wondering whether anyone knew if painted steels rusts at the same speed as steel that isn't painted. Also, does steel rust quicker than aluminium?Thank you
Rust is the process of steel oxidizing when in contact with oxygen, this reaction can be much fast if certain components are present, such as wet air or water. However, if the paint completely isolates the steel from the environment, the encompassed steel will never rust as long as paint shields it. Aluminum corrodes but it does not rust. Rust refers only to iron and steel corrosion. Aluminum is actually very prone to corrosion. However, aluminum corrosion is aluminum oxide, a very hard material that actually protects the aluminum from further corrosion. Aluminum oxide corrosion also looks a lot more like aluminum, so it isn't as easy to notice as rusted iron.
Q:Steel is strong in both tension and compression. Concrete is only strong in compression, and is very fragile in tension. Plus, concrete is heavy--a huge drawback in, say, a bridge deck. And its fairly expensive. And it hides the condition of the steel embedded within it. So what does it bring to the table? Why use it at all?
Exposed steel requires constant maintenance including inspection and repainting. Steel does not provide a durable driving surface nor a good friction one for stopping unless it is textured, which makes driving on it very noisy. It is not possible to refinish a steel surface as is a concrete surface which can be ground and had several inches of new wear surface in concrete or asphalt added to it. Concrete is much less expensive than steel and the enclosure of steel inside the concrete protects it like a paint job does. Steel is a refined, alloyed metal that is mostly iron. Iron, in a chemistry sense os simply Fe. In an industrial sense iron is pig iron commonly saturated with carbon, up to 4.5% and has other impurities like sulfur. Pig iron is brittle and should break rather easily, and bend very little. After a piece is broken look at the crystal structure, you should see rather small crystals. Most steel made for car body's, washing machines, file cabinets, low grade bolts and nuts etc. should flex and bend before breaking. Most steel made for things like cutting tools, axles, etc, is hardened and will chip and break rather than bend. Also you can try to heat the piece to a glowing orange temperature. It must be very hot. Cool it. If there is a lot of white flake scale on the piece it is impure and probably iron of some sort. In the end the only way exactly tell is have an analysis done and look at the chemistry.
