Q:So my engine was back firing and me and my dad adjusted all my valves both sides. Runs better, But it still back fires. What could be the problem? Its a Chevy 350 with a brand new mild cam. 600cc carburetor. And new shorty exhaust headers. However I don't have exhaust pipes on my headers just yet because I gotta get pipes to mesh properly with my exhaust. Could it be air coming back up from the pipes causing it to back fire a bit? Like I said we just adjusted all the valves.
Remove and look at the spark plugs. They should be TAN color. IF WHITE then you are running too lean or one of the vacuum hoses is sucking air because it is hard and cracked on the end. These are rubber hoses, so no cracks. If vacuum hoses are good then richen up the mixture for the engine. You will lose the backfiring. I am assuming that the distributor is set right so that the timing marks happen at the right place on the front pulley, of course.
Q:i am wanting to know if there is a diagram of the engine or at least if you have to remove the intake manifold to get to the egr valve.
the accord is one of the best engineered cars that honda has ever produced and if the one you are looking at has a sunroof and leather it is a ex-L model witch is the top of the line model the milage on it is good and the price is as well your are getting a good deal but there are two things you need to know the automatic trannys that came in the v6 accord have alot of problems but dont let that worry you the trannys in the v6 accords from 98 to 02 the 6th gen model normally go out between 100000 and 110000 miles but honda extended the warranty on them to cover this problem so you wont have to pay for it that right there is a great bonus because even though the tranny will go out honda will cover the cost and you get a brand new tranny that is good for another 100000 miles now the second thing is the timing belt is recomended to be replaced between 90000 and 110000 miles but with only 76000 miles on it you have a ways to go before you have to worry about that I myself have an 02 accord 2dr ex-L 4cyl. and i love it it had 68000 miles on it when i got it and now has 80000 and i have only had it for 11 months but i drive my car alot and i drive it even harder i dont think i have ever shifted to the next gear untill it redlined witch i know is really bad for the car but even with as hard as i drive mine i have never had one problem with it well except for the damage i did the under carraige from having it lowered 2 and a half inch when i bottomed out going 127 on the interstate haha good times but yes you are geeting a good deal and if you get this car you will love it
Q:I bought my first car recently. but it has a high idle and smoking problem, i already replaced the spark plugs. I've been reading about the exhaust gas re-circulation valve. but i cant find it. where exactly is the EGR valve located in a 1999 KIA Pride?
the EGR wont reason a hissing noise, if the EGR replaced into undesirable, there could be a soft stumble off the line, or tough idle. a hissin noise sounds like a vacuum leak someplace. open the hood while the vehicle is working and notice in case you may hear the place the hissing is coming from. it ought to be coming from a line someplace.
Q:Leak in Heart Valve ?i was told by my doctor to to do a ultra sound on my heart a few weeks ago, wehn i finished the ultra sound the lady that did the scan asked if i had any type of heart disease in my family, and i responded that i dont, she said that i have a leak in my heart valve, but that was all, i dont have an appointment with my doctor til two weeks from now, i THINK i feel shortness of breath, but i feel like this may all be because im scared ...... main thing is has anyone had this or know anything about this is it dangerous, deadly ? should i be scared ?
It depends on what valve is leaking, how much is leaking, and for how long has it been leaking. Wait for the physician to evaluate the echocardiogram. Technicians are often wrong or limited in their evaluation, as they are not trained in in-depth evaluation of echocardiographic studies like a cardiologist. Make an appointment with your doctor to discuss the results. You said you think you have shortness of breath, make sure you mention that when you make your appointment. Only your doctor will be able to determine if it is related to your heart, or due to anxiety, or from something else.

Q:I have rented a house and the irrigation timer only has wires of one zone.It goes to a single valve then out to a big round cover with 6 zone pipes coming out of it. What the heck kind of set up is this?does it do a mechanical rotation inside that cover? the zones only come on one at a time but every time I turn it on I get a different zone as they are all Zone 1 on the timer.
The okorder / Please provide pictures if you can, and i can expand more on helping you figure this out.
Q:I know absolutely nothing about cars. My AC stopped working, I had a new air compressor, drier, expansion valve put on. It was also vacuumed out. Problem is it will not take a recharge, and there is no refrigerant in it at all. But it keeps reading high pressure, I don't know the readings I was told it is reading high, and will not take a recharge. Someone on yahoo answers suggested it might be the Schrader valve is this a problem that it can cause if it's bad that it will not let you recharge, and read a high pressure reading? Is there a Schrader valve for the low pressure valve amp; the high pressure valve or is there just one? I have a 96 Dodge Stratus ES. Thank you for any help or ideas.
After replacing all these parts it should have corrected any restriction. If it was vacuumed out there should be negative pressure in the system and accept a charge through the low side port. If you did not see the actual work done im wondering if the parts were indeed changed?
Q:I have a Ford Explorer 4x4 2004 model. The check engine light soon has been on for two to three weeks, I finally got it checked and they said i need my ERG valve cleaned. They quoted it for around 50 bucks, which is fine. However, i dont get paid until a week from now. Will it be alright until then? What are the effects of a dirty/faulty ERG valve if not taken care of??There are not sputtering or anything abnormal that i can tell..Thanks.
It will be ok to drive. It recirculates exhaust gases to help reduce emissions.Typical signs of a malfunctioning egr valve are hesitation during acceleration, rough idling, and hard starting. These can also be signs of a bad evp sensor too, which is the electrical sensor that attaches to the egr valve. The egr valve is easy to clean if you wanna do it yourself and save some cash.Remove it from its mounted location, use carb cleaner to spray inside the valve to remove the carbon buildup. You should push the pintle valve in and out so you can get cleaner to the inside passages.Be careful because you don#x27;t wanna accidentally get cleaner on the diaphragm of the valve. You can also use a small wire brush or even an old toothbrush to scrape away crusty carbon buildup.Replace the gasket if it tears during removal because a torn gasket will cause a vacuum leak. You can drive the car until you get it cleaned though, without being worried that its gonna tear something up.
Q:I'm at school reading a mag and all the internet is blocked except yahoo. So i'm trying to figure out what the diff is between 3 angle versus 5 angle valve jobs.
Cylinder ports flow better with a fancy four or five angle valve job. If you look at most standard valves there is only one contact point all the way around the valve face that actually seals on the valve seats. The width of this surface in multi-angle valve jobs is just as it sounds. Instead on one 45 - 46 degree angle. the valve will have two to three additional angles toward the valve stem under the valve head to smooth out the intake flow of fuel and air into the combustion chambers. there also may one to two additional angles above the sealing surface of the valve for the same reason. The actual part valve of the valve face that sits on the valve seat may be very narrow 3/32 to .060 This is especially true of the intake valves. Not so true of the exhaust valves. The exhaust valves need all the cooling they can get and the valve seat is the only saving grace of cooling them off. Therefore the faces of the valves are a bit wider. The narrowed up intakes however are constantly bathed by cool air and fine droplets of gasoline.
Q:Hi, this is a part 2 question to the one I posted last night. After turning the water shut off valve on my toilet back on, it didnt start to hammer till about 1 min pasted. When the hammering is happening I look in the toilet tank and see air bubbles coming out of the base of the fill valve and the water coming out of the fill tube isn't smooth and flowing its kinda step wise/ in intervals. I forgot to mention that I live in an apartment, does this affect anything? My official question is, is this an air bubble problem or is it a rubber gasket/ rubber seat problem? This is a new building only about 2 yrs old, so parts can't be that bad right?
Air in lines. Leave valve on and push float down manually til it runs smooth.
