I personally say gloves when you are required to manipulate things while wearing them in public. It sounds like you have a water hammer. There might be air in your pipes. There are certain fittings that can be placed along the pipe to stop this. I forgot what it's called. Explain your problem to someone in the hardware store.

Q:I have 1998 lifted dodge ram. Its lifted about 6-8 inches approximately. The steering wheel has a lot of play in it. If I'm turning left, I have to turn the wheel past 10 O'clock until it actually starts to make the turn. Same for when I'm going right, past a 3 O'clock till it starts the turn as well. I am a plumber and you do not want to use an all cpvc adaptor you are asking for trouble they will certainly leak. plus it is better to use thread sealent paste rather than the tape this is because the tape has a habit of coming undone when screwing the pipe together. If you mess up and put the tape on in the wrong direction you have to take it off and start over with the paste you don;t you get it right everytime. For a plastic-to-steel pipe transition (Fig. 3), you'll need a male adapter that will secure the plastic unthreaded pipe to the female-threaded steel pipe fitting. What makes her think it is related to the silver ? What exactly is happening ? Is it slow to drain or is water backing up in the sinks or? You can remove the traps under the sinks ( just unscrew the fittings ) and see if there is anything clogging it in there, otherwise post again and specify exactly what is wrong with the plumbing and how many fixtures are affected.
