Q:Can solar panels be used to power a camping trip?
Yes, solar panels can be used to power a camping trip. They can generate electricity from sunlight and be used to charge portable devices such as smartphones, laptops, and even small appliances like fans or lights. This allows campers to have access to renewable energy while enjoying the outdoors.
Q:Are solar panels recyclable?
Yes, solar panels are recyclable.
Q:So my buddy and I have an idea to start a small Solar Installation business. Small as in I am only willing to do one weekend a month and two weeks a year(I know it sounds like the reserves). These are my specific question:) What is the average cost in the U.S. to have Solar Panels installed?2) What is the average cost in the state of Hawaii to install Solar Panels?3)Is this a worth while venture? (There's a good chance i'm going to ignore this one anyways LOL!)4)How long does it take to install a photovoltaic solar panel?5)How long does it take to install a hot water solar panel?6)Besides the obvious, what permits are needed to get our start?7)What education or Cert. is needed?8)Average time to start up?If there is any other information you believe pertinent to this subject that I didn't ask directly, please share. Thank you for your help in advance!
the fee relies upon on many aspects. What length is your relatives and how a lot warm water do you take advantage of? Which route does your position roof face? Its perfect and most inexpensive once you've component to roof that faces South. What form of cutting-edge warm water gadget do you've and how a lot artwork will be necessary to connect it to image voltaic. the position precisely is your position? What u . s . a ., what component to the country, what different aspects want to be considered like timber, different homes and so on.? What form of image voltaic panel do you want - flat panel or evacuated tubes? Tubes are extra intense priced yet provide extra warm water for an prolonged era on a daily basis. visit the Retscreen cyber web website. Its subsidized by the Canadian authorities and has diverse information for layout and costing of image voltaic, wind or hydro kit everywhere interior the international. It has instantaneous links to kit manufacturers, climate documents and each thing you'll want depending on the area of your position. it could also make an entire fee earnings calculation for you. That way you could attitude contractors with finished preparation and able to make an suggested negotiation over expenditures.
Q:Why can't they put solar-panels on the blades and sides of the 300-500 foot tall turbines? Wouldn't this increase effeciency? Therefore, boosting pay-back time, profits, energy-output?
It would work better to put the solar panels on the ground beneath the windmills. Land underneath wind farms is perfectly usable for other things, and it gets plenty of sun. But then, if you think about good places for solar panels, parking lots make even more sense yet. There's plenty of em, and people like to park in the shade.
Q:Are there any fire risks associated with solar panels?
Yes, there are fire risks associated with solar panels, although they are relatively rare. The main risk factors include faulty installation, damaged wiring, and electrical malfunctions. However, adherence to proper installation standards, regular maintenance, and the use of high-quality equipment significantly mitigate these risks.
Q:I have four power packs for solar lights. They have 3 AA .2volt batteries of 2450 mAh capacity installed in series for a total supply voltage of 4 volt maximum for the lights. I want to charge all four packs at once off a single 6 volt solar panel. With the four packs wired in parallel, what capacity output (wattage) panel do I need to charge the batteries in an 8 hour day?
3 cells in series makes a 3.6volt 2.4AH battery. You multiply the volts but not the capacity. In parallel would be .2volts, triple capacity. So 4 packs in parallel is 9.8AH. Rule of thumb for charging a flat battery is divide capacity by 0 for amps and charge for 5 hours. amp at 6 volts is doable, that would be 6 watts People who make batteries and solar cells usually over-rate them so I doubt that a solar panel of less than 20 watts rating will fully charge these batteries if they are flat. I'd google to see how you might control the charge current with a simple circuit.
Q:wondering if i should get them?? not sure if its worth leasing? also anyone know anything about solar city?
I have panels and they were very much a good investment for me. I should break even in my 6th or 7th year at the latest and they should last at least 20. There were somethings that made it a good investment. My system cost $26K, I got a $0K rebate from my utility and a $2K fed tax credit (it's up to $7800 for this size system now). I also live in a sunny location and have a south facing roof. Plus I plan on living in my house till I die. If you really want to know if it makes good financial sense then get a no obligation quote from a reliable installation company. They will be able to recommend a system that will suit your needs, know about any rebates or tax credits and how much energy your system should create. With all that, your energy usage history and your current rates they will be able to tell you how long it will take for your system to pay for it's self in savings. If you are considering leasing, generally there is no cost savings. They usually size the system so you are paying them the same amount that you would have been paying the energy company.
Q:Are there any maintenance requirements for solar panels?
Yes, solar panels do have maintenance requirements. While they are generally low maintenance, they need to be kept clean and free from debris to ensure optimal performance. Periodic inspections for any damage or shading issues are also recommended. Additionally, the electrical connections and inverters may require occasional maintenance or servicing.
Q:Solar Panels not working very well, they have faded. Is there any paint or anything else I can do to restore them? Thanks Eileen
Unfortunately Eileen the panels are bound to fade as its par for the course. Over time much like everything else (from an AC condenser to your knees and hips) everything starts to go south. When did you purchase and install your panels? If this was done within the past few years then something is definitely wrong, and you should have the manufacturer and installer come back and replace the panels....on their dime of course. Is the warranty on your panels still in effect? If so then its definitely something that they have to come back and take care of. There is a company I know of called Sun Electronics that has a 20 year warranty on their products, so if its worth anything you might want to buy your new panels/system from them. The panels around today are more efficient than those of years past, and with the cost coming down due to economies of scale and the tax incentives you might want to consider getting a new system. Sorry to let you down though Eileen!
Q:Can solar panels be used in areas with high levels of rainfall?
Yes, solar panels can be used in areas with high levels of rainfall. While excessive water exposure can affect the performance of solar panels in the short term, modern solar panels are designed to withstand different weather conditions, including rain. Proper installation and maintenance can ensure their efficiency and longevity, even in areas with high rainfall.
